Pata Pata Pata Pon!

I picked up my demo yesterday and had a quick chance to play through some of the demo. Best $20 game ever.

The rhythm part is very cool and interactive, you want to keep in time with the signing and the pulsing screen to keep the little bastards moving and attacking well. And the game look simply amazing. It's so clean and clear - it's a blast. I can't wait until the full game comes out on the 27th.

I want this game on PSN now!!!! :(

I grabbed the demo Thursday. At first I was like crap this stinks.. but I was WATCHING THE GAME.. My tip is really pay attention to the pulsing boarder.. Unless you have the Rhythm down watching your Pon's talk will just mess you up..
I really loved the demo...
One web site said the game will have like 15 hours of play..

I prepaid for two copies on Friday. :D2:

Seriously - why isn't anyone else looking forward to this? The demo was a freaking blast - I don't think my toes have been tapping that hard ever when playing a video game. Once you get in a rhythm it's quite easy to read what's happening on the screen, and to watch your little bug eyed bastards tossing the spears.

Too bad the demo's fairly short though - but you can extend your playtime by hunting more often and playing the trumpet for that stupid tree. But I can't seem to match up with his Bon Bobon Bobon request :( I get the Bon bon bobonnnnn one, but not the next set :(

Aside from Pixy - which is a given. ;)

UncleGramps 02-12-08 01:34 PM

Got the demo yesterday, still playing through it, love it so far. :)

Can you save in the demo? I assume so since there'd be no other way for the retail game to give you the exclusive weapon.. I played for about twenty minutes on Sunday and had to shut it off (you know, portable game, short bursts and all).

Also, a four letter name restriction? In 2008? Really?

ds6161 02-12-08 01:48 PM

demo can only save at the end...

Phuzbox 02-12-08 01:50 PM

I've played through 4 missions so far I think. I've been doing the soft power down so I wouldn't have to restart the demo. I think the save comes at the end of the demo which carries over into the retail version.

Downloaded the demo and thought it was fun. It's Rhythm & a Strategy RPG rolled into one. For $20 I won't be passing this one up.

Liver&Onions 02-12-08 03:21 PM

Yeah, you save at the end of the demo when you get the spear - and that save is used with the retail game.

Decker 02-12-08 08:24 PM

How do you DL this demo?

darkside 02-12-08 08:34 PM

Finally found a demo at GameStop and I already have my $5 down on a preorder. Played a bit of it, but not long enough to reach the end of the demo.

ds6161 02-13-08 12:00 AM

I've been playing the demo about once every other day..
Now I'm hearing the beat at work now!!!
This game is really surprising me..
Can't wait another week....

Someone put the demo up on a torrent and I downloaded it that way. My local Gamestop/EB did not have any demos in and I wanted to try it before I purchased it. :)

Demo will be up on PSN today according to Joystiq.

GO GET IT!
