Saw Xbox 360 Video Game

Saw is going to become a video game. They are going to release it October 2009 approximately the same time the 6th movie comes out.

Talk about a creepy game.

PopcornTreeCt 02-07-08 01:06 AM

Are you setting up traps or trying to escape from them? Hmm...

Layziebones 02-07-08 01:21 AM

I have to admit, as cheezy as it will probably be, making traps and having people online try to escape them would be sweet.

argh923 02-07-08 02:37 AM

If done right, it could be pretty badass.

The chances of it being done right are slim and none, though.

The design plans for the birdhouse are only going to be available via DLC. I hope you've saved up your point cards. :)

Move over Manhunt...

DRG 02-07-08 11:29 AM

I could see this working as sort of a cross between a twisted puzzle game and a investigation/detective type game.

PixyJunket 02-07-08 11:46 AM

I could see this working as sort of a desperate grab at a dollar.

fumanstan 02-07-08 12:08 PM

I find it hard to believe that this would actually allow players to build traps to kill people/force them to kill themselves. I predict a lame platformer/action game.

taffer 02-07-08 12:46 PM

There was a game on the first Playstation where you were an evil guy who set up traps all around your castle. Then adventurers would adventure into your castle and die in your traps. It was called Tecmo's Deception.

starseed1981 02-07-08 12:50 PM

As long as I can be the bad guy I'm in.

shumway 02-07-08 12:51 PM

And Deception was really well made and reviewed pretty well, as far as I recall.

RichC2 02-07-08 12:53 PM

would make a great Deception or Phantasmagoria game, doubt they'll go down either path.

JaxComet 02-07-08 12:57 PM

I thought you were posting that you actually "saw" an XBOX 360 game. :D

I was wondering if they had suddenly become rare...........

tpc 02-07-08 01:43 PM

This would have to be REALLY well-recieved before I'd give it a second look. I wasn't particularly moved by the first movie, and never saw any sequels, so certainly, the license won't drive me to buy it... but the POTENTIAL is there for something cool.

I just doubt it will be realized.

Here's to hoping.

How violent was it though? Considering Saw's themes and the gruesomeness of most of it's traps, I'd assume that making anything close to keeping up with the Saw movies would be slammed pretty hard, especially considering the whole Manhunt 2 stuff.

Anything toned down would suck.

There is going to be a 6th movie?

I was going to say Yup - right before the 7th, but right after the 5th works too. It's a TV series playing out on the big screen.

Hell yeah. Deception 1 and 2 both rocked. At least I think I remember a sequel, I was drinking alot back then...

It is more like the old Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger movies with all the crappy sequels being continuously pumped out one after another. I fully expect to see Saw X: Jigsaw in Space within the next five years.

There were three Deception games on PS1 and one on PS2. I only played the first two, and they were pretty cool.

The Deception games didn't have buckets of blood and gore, at least as far as I can remember. (It has been many moons since I last played them). I remember them being about on level with the original Doom games. Plus, being PS1 games, the graphics were blocky and ugly, so it was hard to take it seriously. Deception did have a lot of satanic elements with the main character selling his soul to the devil and other generic stuff like that.

Except 4 movies in, Saw is still fairly well received while those other movies dropped pretty much with the first sequel. At least from what I can tell. I've enjoyed all 4 and looking forward to the next, although 4 has definitely been the most polarizing as far as enjoyment goes for people.

Hasn't anyone played Condemned here?
That's gruesome and scary as hell, and you're indoors in dark rooms most of the time, and have to piece together forensic clues that a serial killer has left behind.
