Questions about some games

I have two questions that I would like to ask the posters here:

1. I am planning on buying F.E.A.R. and The Orange Box. Should I get them on PS3 (which I picked up two weeks ago after the Warner Bros. announcement) or on PC?

2. I want to get Silent Hill 3 and 4 on PC, but I read in an ebay auction description for Silent Hill 3 that if my computer is using a Geforce4 video card (I'm curently using a 128mb Geforce4 MX 4000), the game won't play properly. I believe the description said this also applied to Silent Hill 4. Is this true?

With your video card, I'd get FEAR and Orange Box on PS3. That card is pretty old, so I assume the rest of your system is on the old side as well. I doubt your system would run either game nearly as well as the PS3.

I don't know about Silent Hill compatibility though.

Yeah, unless you can upgrade your video card, get it on the PS3.

As for Silent Hill, I don't know what the story is on that.

Saying that the Geforce 4 is old is an understatement. Nvidia is currently on the Geforce 8 series with the 9 series coming out in the next few months.

For comparisons sake, the original Xbox used a Geforce 3 card. Your Geforce 4 MX is actually between the Geforce 3 and 4 in terms of performance (the MX series were low budget cards).

I seriously doubt FEAR would run on that card at all, and if it somehow does it won't be a pretty sight. The Orange Box stands a better chance of running, but it won't be pretty either. The original Xbox could barely handle Half-life 2 on minimum settings.

You could always download the demos on PC and see how well they run.

Often overlooked answer, try that first OP. I'm not a PS3 owner yet, but I imagine you can do that as well.
