All the NIN songs are great

Drums are gonna be a real bitch on March of the Pigs and The Perfect Drug

The only thing that's odd is the guitar plays some piano parts in March of the Pigs and The Collector. They aren't long parts, but it's just weird to be playing piano on your guitar.

This was a great tip for me when I was at my wits end. Another way is to play the R Y B like descending triplets (so play it as R Y B R Y B R Y B). While you'll miss every other Y in the string, you should be able to survive it.

Yeah, they are a lot of fun to play on drums. I tried them out on Hard difficulty this morning, and they are challenging but manageable. I'm sure they'd kick my ass on Expert difficulty, but on Hard, they are abstracted enough for you to wrap your head around. Still, the drum 'n bass breakdown towards the end of The Perfect Drug has some really tricky patterns even on Hard. I would really love to try these out with a full band - I bet it would be amazing.

Tiering for the tracks is up. Gonna wait until vids until I see all three up on Youtube, which may not be until later tonight. Here's a taste for later though.

There's a reason Trent Reznor and NIN haven't performed The Perfect Drug live.

Got my copy from the Amazon DotD. No drums yet, but two guitars (Les Pauls, thankfully) and a microphone is enough to tide us over for now.

Things went a lot more smoothly when I calibrated manually to compensate for the whopping 100 ms audio delay. The number is even more surprising since my GHII and GHIII offsets are both 0 ms. No biggie though, since it is adjustable. The manual calibration is 10x better than on GHII and GHIII.

The HOPO indicators on the other hand...

His live bands have been kick ass. I'm sure they could handle it.

Is there any way to use the same character for solo mode on all three instruments? I'd rather not have three identical characters, just named something different.

Nope. You have to create a new character for every instrument.

Bleh. I always name my character after myself, and the characters can't be named the same thing.

I'm sure that Jeremy's 1-516 won't have a problem with it. Hell, you can probably get Jeremy's 518 - infinity on board with it too.

Heh. Unfortunately I only use the 517 on message boards. It is just Jeremy for games. Oh well.

Some important DLC patched songs info:

Hey everyone,

A few songs we have released for DLC have been patched. The patches are live already on the 360, and go live on PS3 on the 28th. Online play/leaderboards/ranking are not affected by this. To get the updated DLC songs you can re-download them (directions at bottom of post). You won't be punished for not downloading them again, however, as the fixes have no effect on gameplay.

The following songs have incorrect genre tags which cause them to be lost when sort by genre in-game:

Title/Launch Date

“Can’t Stand Losing You” 20-Nov

“Roxanne” 20-Nov

“Synchronicity II” 20-Nov

“Police Pack 01” 020-Nov

“Brass in Pocket” 18-Dec

Also there was a bug where the vocals wouldn’t turn off when the user put them the whole way down but this has been fixed now! -

“Limelight” 1-Jan

How to re-download-

Xbox 360

Navigate to the System Blade ( purple ), select memory, all devices, games, Rock Band, search for any of the listed songs (right trigger is a page down ), select the song with the A button, and then select Delete.

Now either re-download from marketplace, or from the download history.

PS3

The songs won't appear in the store if you've already downloaded them, so you will need to re-download them from your download list.

The LP is too small, its neck is too thick, its fret buttons suck (oddly shaped and do not provide the feel of fretting a real guitar), and the clicky strum bar is super annoying after a while. The only thing I like about the LP is that it is wireless. I think people who are used to the LP are not giving the Strat enough of a shot (that is, assuming they got a "good" Strat).

What problems have each had? As far as I can tell, mine is fine (for now).

I got my replacement guitar today. I still cannot consecutively hit a string of fast notes very well. I got 5 stars on practically all medium songs, and am about 13 songs into hard and cannot get 5 stars on the fast songs with long strings of the same note because it kills my multiplier when I get to them. Whats the tips to hit these? I've tried strumming fast down and doing down/up strum and cant seem to hit them. Oy...
