I clicked on this post thinking you were talking about the cool stuff this guy is doing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw&feature=user this is the head tracking one, I'm tempted to download the software and give it a try. |

I am sure it has been posted on here before but that was my first time seeing it. Yep my post was a little retarded but I thought it was interesting to find it in on an auto site. |
That second video is outstanding. Nintendo needs to take this idea and build upon it. I'd love to make a pair of those glasses but I am less than handy.
He's done some other experiments as well. Check out JohnnyLee.net
Wow... that's just ridiculously cool.
That second video is just crazy, somebody needs to hire that guy....

This guy is way smarter than me. That's freakin awesome.
Yeah, I wish we had cool tools (hw/sw) to work with when I was in school. We still used punch cards in freshman computing class. :(

For some reason, I was thinking the OP was referring to the X-rated ways that I've seen it been used and no, I won't post links. :D
That guy is amazing. I would absolutely freak out if a developer could make a game using that technique.
wow, someone seriously needs to get these videos into the hands of someone at nintendo. This guy is a bloody genius!
To be fair, he's a PhD. candidate in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon. He's basically the cream of the crop of computer geeks. This guy will be a millionaire in 5 years. Can't wait to see what he cooks up.
If I was Nintendo, he would be hired already. People like these are the ones who can come up with ideas to get truly interactive videogames. I mean I remember playing VR games like Dactyl's Nightmare in arcades like 15 years ago. Why aren't we any closer to a VR home system other than the failed Virtual Boy? FPS is a huge genre, and that alone should give developers the incentive to try to put something out there.
