If you send it in for repairs, they usually update their database with your new serial number. If you exchange it in store or if they didn't update their database with your new SN, you are screwed.

I know earlier after (several) calls to their service department after a replacement system, they would issue codes to replace all the points you had previously bought. I hear a lot of people saying recently that they have to delete and redownload their XBLA games on a replacement so something is in place from the points replacement method.. but it doesn't seem to be widespread. Like I said, because of the downtime, a lot of forums are piping up with more people running into issues with it. |

When my "premium" 360 bricked, even before calling MS to get a coffin, I bought a new "arcade" 360 (with HDMI) to hold me over. Even though I've gotten my original 360 back since then, I still have my replacement 360 hooked up.

Tech support had me fax in my purchase receipt and my exchange receipt. That was about five months ago. About 25 calls later, I still can't play games offline. "By the end of the month for sure"... "You'll be getting a call from tech support this week"... "We're updating our system so I can't help you right now"... "I can't transfer you to anyone higher up"... Yeah right. All lies. |

We should get a free xbox classic game instead of an arcade game, lets hope they give us more than one option for it.

They'll probably keep delaying it, hoping that most people just forget about getting a free game in the first place.

Undertow is supposed to be free for a week starting Wed 23. Full details here Undertow free
Sorry if this was posted already, I didn't see it and wanted to make sure everyone knew. |
Yes it's been posted, but thanks for the reminder.
|
I can confirm that if you call support they refund the 800 points if you have already bought Undertow. Make sure you are online as they asked me to confirm while on the phone still that I saw the increase in my balance.

And sorry to post this in multiple threads, but it seems appropriate here.
While you are downloading your free Undertow, there are three other free games on XBLA. Aegis Wing Carcassonne Totemball (if you have the camera only) |

Yaris is also free, but most Atari 2600 games are better than it. |
