This will seem really stupid ... but I can't figure out how to fast travel (PS3 version). When I go to the world map in my inventory, I can move the pointer around, but I never get a travel option, even when it is over places that I've been.

You won't be able to travel if your in a battle or running from a battle. Also, you have to be outside. You can't travel from inside a dungeon or from in a house.

Also, make sure you're traveling to a specific city/cave/ruin/etc... You can't just land in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Turns out it was something even weirder. As long as I have my GH3 dongle plugged in, the game won't let me fast travel at all. When I take the cursor over places I've been, nothing happens. Pulled the dongle ... wow, whole new world. Only had to do the first 4 levels by walking/riding everywhere ....

I have not played this game for a while after getting a new puppy, but where I left off I'm not too excited to get back. Is the main quest the weakest part of the game? I find closing Oblivion gates rather boring. I closed about four to get cities to help me, but I really don't feel like closing anymore of them. Should I persevere? Does the main quest get more interest after that, or am I doomed to close gate after gate? They all look the same.

I thought it was the weakest. The main storyline was the only questline i never finished.

when you tire of gathering ingredients for some cool poisons and stuff... and no longer want the unique weapons form Oblivion...

just create a 60-90 second invisibility spell... and wear some Chameleon enchanted armor if you have it... you can go through that gates without being noticed... go straight to the Sigil Sanctorum and close it... and you still get sigil stones which make powerful weapons and armor...

if you sneak through it's pretty easy and quick to go straight to the stone and close a gate...

the best weapon i had was an axe i created that had a transcendent sigil stone enhancement to absorb 20% health... so as you engage in combat you are killing them with axe damage, also sapping their health... and your health bar never goes down even fighting multiple opponents as long as you keep the weapon charged, i had more charged soul stones than i could use, those ayleid weapon charge things, or by capturing souls with Azura's star if needed...

i liked the final quest myself... and the Dragon Armor you get...

mostly because of this thread...

i started a new character...

dunmer... mage sign... crusader specialization...

it's awesome to be doing it again... just went and got rockshatter for the 0 feather, kick ass mace, with blessings on it...

on the road again... this time around makes it very clear how badly i sucked on the first character, early on in the game...

dvdsteve2000 03-13-08 07:42 PM

I started a new character a couple weeks ago. This is after I replaced my 360, so I'm trying to re-do the achievements. The game is a blast, and I swear that half the places I go to are places that I've never been before, and I recall having been to 350+ places on my last guy, lol.

One question...I remember a cave that was inside/under a waterfall, does anyone know what it's called or where it is? I remember the cave was a loot-fest, maybe even better than Rockmilk Cave.

Dr Mabuse 03-13-08 08:12 PM

remember the Oblivion Wiki site... it has maps to everything... just looking at the map with places in water will help... Link to the site...

Sercen, Rockmilk Cave, Dasek Moor, Greenmeade Cave, Lake Arrius Caverns (after a point in the main quest), Robbers Glen Cave, and Fort Wariel are all decent...

go to Fort Strand and get RockShatter... ZERO feather and the baddest ass weapon on the game early on... just don't complete the quest for a long time... with a 0 feather weapon you can carry more loot... that's a pretty good loot cave, and it's right there at anvil... so you can collect, feather, sell... collect, feather, sell...

just search any of these names at the wiki and you have detailed map of location, and painfully specific details of everything in them and where they are... and etc... too much info really...

Ugh, I'm having an awful time when you grab the book that looks just like the cover for the game in the cavern. My mage dude can not stand getting beat down by 5 guys.

get a conjuration spell... and work that spell...

forget the book... and go off an wander around finding things on the map and exploring, while casting that conjuration spell constantly... you will level up quick if you just cast it over and over till magicka runs out... then cast each time there is just enough magicka to cast again...

after you power up to at least journeyman... go get a good conjuration spell at chorral mage's guild from Athragar...... then you can cast 'bound cuirass' which is good daedra armor(really helps a mage), and summon a Dremora... that helps a lot on mage stuff... or cast 'bound mace' which is a daedra mace, and summon a dremora... then things will go differently...

if you can get to expert in conjuration you will have it made... summon a daedroth...

then go back with a powerful 'friend' to conjure up and help you...

I haven't started this game yet. Should I start with mods or without?

dick_grayson 09-09-08 12:46 PM

I found a copy of this and was trying to set up my logitech cordless pc controller for use with this. anyone know the best settings or what I should be using? i can't stand using a keyboard for games, so it's gotta be the controller. thanks
