that's awesome news. I love that game. Free is always good, but even if you miss it for some reason, 250 points is nothing to sneeze at. That's still a good deal.

I played the demo and wasn't a big fan but now that I am so into Guitar Hero, I might have to check this out.

So it should be compatible with my Les Paul from GHIII? If that's the case, I may have to pick this up.

I skipped over this one. I don't really know anything about it, but the fact that they are going back and adding support speaks a lot about how popular this game is.

Awesome news.

Of course, I'm gonna be out of town on December 16. But 250 points for the 5 new songs isn't bad at all.

According to the game's developers (Bizarre Creations), the song pack is actually out tomorrow (11/29) and is free until 12/12. Here's a link: http://www.bizarrecreations.com/arti...rticle_id=5291

I really enjoyed Boom Boom Rocket but haven't played it in a while. This song pack gives me a good reason to go back and play some more.

So how does guitar support work for this? Do you just hit the buttons or do you have to strum as well?

I rather enjoyed this game. Time to dive back in.

It already works with the GHII Xplorer. Just not as well as with the 360's controller.

Ahhh... that explains it. I could have sworn the last update added guitar support, but when I tried it the other night with the Les Paul it obviously didn't work.

I just downloaded the demo and tried it with the wireless Les Paul and it will not work at all. Am I doing something wrong or is it not set up for that guitar yet?

I am interested in getting it but only if the wireless guitar works on it.

The original post indicates that guitar support, dance pad support and extra songs are coming soon. As of now, only the Xplorer works with the game (but it isn't very fun to play that way, imo).

Thanks for the response. So leave the guitar for GH, huh? That for the opinion. If it is not much fun, then I would rather not spend the points on it then.

Try it for yourself with the demo. You might like it. I thought the game worked a lot better with the controller. It certainly isn't like playing the guitar in a GH game -- this is more like timed button pressing. Playing God Of War with a guitar would suck also.

I couldn't find any new downloads for it last night in the marketplace. Do I have to go through the game itself to find it?

It's not up yet. I think the original date of 12/16 is actually correct.

I don't know. I think it might be one of those cases where the developer has it ready to go and assumes that MS will just immediately pop it right up onto Live. That's happened before, where a publisher or developer has announced a date for an XBL demo or other content, and then it doesn't actually show up until a few days later. The Bizarre Creations site still lists 11/29 as the release date for the new songs, so either there was some miscommunication or a delay on Microsoft's side. Hopefully we'll get an update from them soon.

I'll keep checking just to save that 250 points, but I'm thinking UncleGramps is right.

I've seen some forum posts elsewhere indicating that the "Rock Pack" (guitar support + the 5 new songs) is out now. I can't verify that at the moment, but I'll be checking when I get home.

downloaded and played 'em all. They are a lot more challenging than the ones that come with the game.

I cracked the top 100 on a couple of them. I'm sure those will be obliterated by later tonight though.

Playing the new songs, and they are far harder. Medium on these songs is close to Hard on the old songs.

I love them though.

Tried guitar on one song on easy level. Now THAT's gonna take some practice. Hard as hell on first attempt.

I love Sugar Time (I think it's called). A hard rock take on the Nutcracker.

They are definitely harder. A few tries and I've still only gotten one A on the easy setting.
