I don't have a PS3 so I've just did some googling..

I'm trying to help you but I don't own a PS3 so it's kinda hard..

Questions:

1. Did you read the manual / directions to see how to pair it with your PS3?

2. Do you have the USB Guitar dongle plugged in?

3. Is there a "PS" button on the Guitar.

As far as I can tell from googling a cord doesn't plug into the guitar.. There is a USB dongle that plugs into the PS3.

See where that cord is plugged into on that second picture? There is a usb port there. Plug in the guitar. Hit the ps button a couple times or shut it off and turn it back on.
