On the plus side, all of the Xbox Original games have a free theme and free gamerpics to DL. I've already switched to the Psychonaut theme. :) |
So regarding the addition of Divx/xvid support...
Have I read things right that the only way the 360 will play such files is through an attached USB device? Streaming them from a Media Center PC doesn't work? |

If you don't mind me asking.. What's a typical day like for you? Wakeup, go to work, come home, game until bedtime, rinse & repeat? And I don't mean this to be sarcastic or mean in anyway.. I'm genuinely curious. Add to that that Flay and others have probably played their share of TMNT, Open Season, Cars, etc... and you get to 100,000 without an insane time commitment. |

Hey to all in Video Game World, I have a present for some lucky person. I have a 1 month Xbox Live Gold subscription code, and it is:
KMTMR-9QYMR-742JB-BBWGG-X3WX6 Please post if you use this so that others keep trying! Hopefully this helps someone:D |
Used it! My subscription was expiring the 7th (three days).
I think it worked? Where can I check on their site? Anyways, THANKS!! EDIT: It worked. Thanks again! |

Warning About the Xbox 360 System Update By: Arran Walker 04/12/2007 01:50 pm Microsoft has issued a warning of an unfortunate problem that has been found with one of the features of the new dashboard update for the Xbox 360. The update allows you to change the email account (Live ID) associated with your Xbox Live Gamertag, which is an incredibly welcome feature, and one that has been requested since the consoles launch. Right now, however, if you go and change that email account you will in fact lose all of your forum posts, community user level, and icons earned at the Xbox.com forum. All posts made by your account will appear as ‘anonymous’. The team at Microsoft are working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and we’ll let you know when this has been achieved. Right now though, if you value your CUL, Icons, and Forum posts, do not change your Live ID. The fix should be here in a few days. |

Xbox 360 to rival Wii sales in Dec says analyst by Blake Snow | 12/03/2007 | 1:23:50 PM PST Despite trailing Nintendo for an entire year, Microsoft's Xbox 360 will sell on par with Wii during the month of December, analyst Michael Pachter said on Monday. The week after Thanksgiving, Wii sold 350,000 in unit sales followed by Xbox 360 with 310,000 units in the U.S. -- a trend Pachter predicts will continue through December. "These figures imply that Microsoft will sell 1.5 million Xbox 360s in December in the U.S., that Nintendo will sell 1.7 million Wiis, and that Sony will sell around 800,000 PS3s," he said. "This is about double the number of consoles sold last December, and suggests that the holiday will be a good one for the U.S. publishers." Having missed his original forecast that Wii shortages would subdue in Febuary 2007, Pachter now expects Wiis to be widley available by April 2008. Chris |
I wonder how many wiis would be sold if they were readily available during the holiday season...

I just downloaded the update, and I'm not sure if it was an advertised feature, but I'm glad the 360 can connect to multiple computers now. I was going to test out the DivX feature, and it recognized both my desktop and my laptop. Before the update, I always had to disconnect one before it would even see the other.
|
My dilemma: Moved into a new place. My only source of internet is my laptop which I connect to Verizon Wireless via their USB. Is there any way I can get on Live with this setup? Wiring the 360 to the laptop, for instance?
Thanks in advance! |

Just tried out a Divx movie streaming from my computer - worked just fine. I did have to download a small 2.xx mb update though.
|
Where did you get an update?
Also, where is a good place to find some codecs? For instance in Vista i can't watch a DVD through MP11 due to lacking a codec of some sort. It seems like that ought to be something freely available online. |
also just popped an episode of "The Hills" from last night on a disc (Don't ask..) as well as 2 videos from +44 all different types of avi/divx. They all played fine after a 3mb update.

And somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you should even need the codecs on your computer to play the videos through your 360...? And I can never get DVDs to play in WMP 11 either. |
So the update was on your 360 not your PC?

Since there was a gamer points conversation earlier...here is a newly released game just reduced to $19.99 guaranteed to get you some extra points & achievements: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?...PeVpWPQKMh2vOQ
Beowulf: The Game. It got a rousing rating of 48 on metacritic. Could it really be that bad to lower in price so quickly? Wonder how many copies it has sold? |
