I played it. I thought it was fun. Not great, but definitely worth a rental.

enjoyed the demo. liked ron perlman as conan's voice.

I might check this out when it gets a price drop. It is a big God of War clone.

All it would take is for one parent to have a duck fit and Conan would become one of the hottest selling games this year.

I loved the Demo.

Demo was alright, but the game felt (and actually looked) inferior to God of War. On one hand, why not steal from the best, but on the other, it didn't exactly feel fresh to me.

Agree with most above. Demo was ok. For me, not a buy but definitely a rental.

I'm planning on picking it up pretty soon - the demo was great -- also featuring Claudia Black. People bitch and moan that it's a God o'War clone, but if you (like me) haven't played those - since I never owned a PS2 - it doesn't really mean anything.

It feels like a nice hack and slash - sounds a little short though - that'll add some variety to my RPG/FPS gaming right now, especially since Mercs 2 and NG2 are a ways away still.

I'm glad I don't have the baggage of God Of War. :p People just can't let things stand on their own.

Anyway, I went into gamestop and when I asked about Conan the guys at the counter gave me a free pre-order figurine. I told them that I wasn't buying Conan now but they said they had too many so they just put them out for people to take. Then they told me to take 2. :D Well, hell...I never say no to "FREE".


...but then I ended up buying Conan anyway. :lol: But it's all good. I'm gonna have fun with this and Jericho :up::up:

FYI: There is a $5 off coupon from Best Buy for Conan in the latest issue of OXM (December 2007, #77). It doesn't expire until 1-31-08.

So far it's been pretty fun. Like I said, I'm not stuck on the ghost of God of War so this has been a enjoyable new experience for me. The graphics are nice and the moves are cool. I kinda wish they would have given more control over the camera location but it's no big deal.

It looks pretty fun, so I'll have to rent it sometime.

I thought the controls were clumsy and he just didn't move fast enough. And the graphics seemed to be like PS2 quality. I'll pass.

I just watched the video review of Conan on gametrailers.com. This game couldn't be a more blatant God of War rip-off if it tried. :lol:

The video review showed sections where you have to quickly tap a button to open a door, opening chests and tons of red power orbs come out, quicktime events where you press a button in time, etc. I don't think I saw a single original idea that wasn't stolen from God of War.

P.S. The video review showed a lot of female nudity too.

Well 3 years later (and after Ive owned this for over a year) I finally played and beat this game. It was a huge mistake playing it on hard as its a very cheap game. Once youre getting hit you cant block or roll!!! The best thing was Perlman and the worse: ABSOLUTE SHITTY LONG HORRIBLE BOSS BATTLES!!! :mad:

Lucky you man. I was on Normal and having a great time until I got to the 2nd Bonecrusher(the Minotaur fucker with the Lions). I was stuck for a long time and just gave up. I traded it in.

Had it not been for that Boss I think I would've loved that game.

Dude, that guy was a cakewalk compared to the finale, but yea he was a bitch. The final boss took me 2 HOURS alone because he had 6 stages!!! THats right, 6 life bars and different bullshit tasks. I read a review and a FAQ after the game... both said this boss is the worst they have EVER seen in gaming

What really sucks is that you have to baby step EVERY boss. Hit it twice than run. Whoever designed this game needs a good case of herpes!

The reason I played it now was I wanted a God of War fix... this didnt help

Hrmmm, and I was just thinking about my sealed copy that I bought like a year or two ago. Maybe I'll go play something like Condemned/Condemned 2 instead :D. *sigh*, why can't somebody make a good Conan game, it shouldn't be hard...but yet the 360 game and the MMO have both sucked the big one. All it needs is fighting and wenches for pete's sake.

Shit. I'm glad I didn't keep it. :lol: Bayonetta had that multiple Life Bar shit but at least they managed to make the Boss battles fun.

If they had just toned down the Boss fights in Conan it would've been totally awesome.

I love anything to do with Conan and since I finally purchased a PS3, I was looking to purchase this game. The only problem was that I couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, I found it used for $15 but for whatever reason, I decided to hold off. Now after reading this thread, I'm glad that I decided to keep my money.

Once I got to the level where Conan is replaced by Leno, I sold the game to Gamestop.

Yea, the boss battles here are not fun. THe only saving grace of this game:

If you love Conan and can see yourself playing the game again, if you beat it on hard, you unlock all moves and the ability for your swords to "sing" - they glow and combos just flow (ala God of War), plus all magic. It makes the game VERY easy. SO Easy that I played to the first bone crusher and got to him in less than an hour and it took less than a minute to beat him. Whereas on hard it took me at least 30 mins.

A few weeks ago I got a used copy of this for $9 and have been enjoying it for what it was (never having played a "God of War" game, I can't make the clone criticism), until this evening...

...when I reached the final boss. He really is a pain in the ass and I'm tempted to just give up on the game. The IGN review was right: this last part is not enjoyable at all.

Funnily enough, prior to this last boss the hardest part of the game for me was this damn section in the desert where you have to jump from one ledge to another. I spent a fruitless 30 minutes trying before I had to consult a walkthrough (turns out you have to keep A pressed down so Conan "glides" a little more). Stupid jumping in video games. :mad: :lol:

Did you beat the final boss?

The thing that bogs this down are the bosses. But theres those parts where I had to shoot the boat with a ballista and ALL THESE DUDES KEPT ATTACKING ME :mad: Horrible!!

No, I gave up. If I ever have a spare few hours and absolutely nothing to do, maybe I'll give it another shot. :lol: There wasn't anything enjoyable about that last boss whatsoever.

I picked up a used copy of Fable II tonight, so I'm hoping for a more pleasing experience.
