Am I doing something wrong?
So I have been paying multiplayer for about 2 months and I love it...but I have a quick question... Why is it always the same 4 maps? Whenever I play it is either Snowbound, Narrows, Gravity, & the warehouse place... There are like 10 other maps on the game that NEVER come up - is it something I am doing? |

Snowbound Construct Narrows The Pit High Ground Guardian Isolation Valhalla Last Resort (Rarely, and usually shotty/snipers) Sandtrap, Epitaph, and Last Resort usually aren't included. There are 3 new maps coming on December 11th. |

Saw this on Teamxbox and thought it was interesting for Halo fans:
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/15269/...ready-Sold-1M/ Halo 3 Sells 5 Million Copies, Mass Effect Already Sold 1M Speaking to GameDaily, Jeff Bell, the corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business unit, has revealed that Halo 3 has sold five million copies since it launched on September 25. Meanwhile, Bell revealed that BioWare's Mass Effect has already sold one million units in only three weeks. "We saw incredible sales of Xbox 360 for the week of November 18, including Black Friday of more than 310,000 Xbox 360 in the U.S. alone." Bell told GameDaily. "This is really strong momentum for us given that we're already in our third year on the market. We've also seen a strong response to both Halo 3 sales with more than 5 million, and Mass Effect which has sold more than a million copies in less than three weeks." I see a lot of carnage on the two smaller maps. The Rat's Nest map has a crazy amount of vehicles for so little space. The larger map looks nice and is wide open but seems a good bit smaller than Vahalla. |
I like the looks of the new maps. We played them in custom for a bit just so there aren't any surprises. They also updated some playlists (apparently) because I had a Team BR game in slayer today.

Took me bout 10 minutes to download em in the morning. Overall i think they're decent, i like Foundry a lot for Slayer matches.

What is the general consensus on these maps, worth the price or skip it till it is free?
|
It really depends how much Halo you play. If Halo is in your top 2 games right now it would be worth it. If you play Halo once every 2-3 weeks you might as well wait. You will be waiting a while though and it may make getting into parties more difficult.

Really dumb question, how do you start an online coop game? The only other one I have played on XB360 is Gears of War where you either host or search for others who are hosting. I can't figure out how to do it in H3. I'm guessing I need to communicate with people outside of the game first? There is no way to search for host games ala GoW?
Thanks |

Thanks On a different note, just wanted to recommend the Halo 3 soundtrack that just came out. I got the 2 disc set off Amazon the other week and it is fantastic. Great music with a good variety (in my opinion). It's cool to listen to the different cues that you remember as you were playing the game. It made me pick up the other soundtracks for Halo 1 & 2 as well. |
You cannot search online for a coop game. You have to invite a friend or they have to invite you which kinda sucks.
|
Are the new maps in the multiplayer mix yet? I played last night for 2-3 hours and never got one.

Supposedly they are mixed into some of the other playlists as well but you will only encounter them if every single person in your party has downloaded them. |
I LOVE Standoff. what a damn fun map for CTF and Slayer. I'd imagine neutral bomb would be good on it as well.
|
While in matchmaking, go to where you select playlist. there select DLC, there is only one choice.....HEROIC MAP PACK........enJOY.......See U there.......

I'm enjoying the new maps but it seems recently that I've enjoyed creating my own maps more than actually playing! So far I've made 3 maps on Foundry. One was strictly made in mind for CTF and the other two are probably best served for Social Slayer. I'm proud and equally ashamed that I've spent hours on each map making sure that everything is in its proper place and that weapons/equipment are equally and fairly located. I've tried to make them as "realistic" as possible in the sense that there aren't 8 man cannons, multiple turrets, every vehicle and limited spawn spots. At any rate, I'd love to actually play them with 8 people as I can only seem to get 3-4 playing at one time.
If anyone would be so obliged to check them out, please feel free to add me - beesonosu. I'll be gone for the next week and a half but I'll be on eventually! |

Let me know. |
I just finished Legendary about 30 minutes ago. I actually went through the first three solo, the next three on co-op and the final four solo, and still nabbed the achievement.
Cortana - (the second to last level, aka the bitch Flood level), I searched for a walkthrough for some tips since that level gave me issues on Normal. After boning up, I think it was almost easier on Legendary. The main tip for me was dual Plasma Pistols. They kick the crap out of the Flood and can be found in every room. Another helpful hint was that clearing some rooms was totally unnecessary. There are a few rooms you can just run like hell through dodging bullets or using the cloak equipment to get to the next checkpoint. Brute Shot works well to knock the morphers off the walls. Halo - (the final level) Other than the intro level I think this had to be the easiest level on Legendary. Hit the slopes and take out the guy with the hammer. Use the hammer like a madman on the Flood and pick up the Brute Shot. Proceed up the installation with dual Plasma Pistols and the Brute Shot. The Arbitor was actually very helpful on this level so keep close to him. Go inside and grab the Spartan Laser from Johnson and take out the Monitor. Head out, grab the Warthog and finish the game. Do not leave the Warthog to fight, just drive like hell. Easy peasie. |
