Ridiculous. The VC has really went downhill lately.

VC Update for 1/21:
ADVENTURES OF LOLO 2 (NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Lolo and Lala are back in this sequel to the popular puzzle game THE ADVENTURES OF LOLO. On their return from the Haunted Castle, the Great Devil kidnaps Lala and challenges Lolo to rescue her again. Now he must take on the challenge of the Great Devil's Tower and Castle mazes. Fortunately, Lala was able to analyze each of the mazes as she was taken to the tower and left clues in the Jewel Boxes in each room. Each Jewel that Lolo collects contains information that will help him in the next room. In order to succeed, he'll also have to push tiles, pick up Heart Framers, temporarily turn enemies into Eggs with his Magic Shots and ward off enemy attacks by moving Emerald Framers. With your help, Lolo and Lala will work together to escape the Great Devil's clutches and defeat him. SUPER STREET FIGHTER™ II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS (Super NES®, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen - Violence, 800 Wii Points): When SUPER STREET FIGHTER II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS debuted, the fighting-game genre was forever changed. Along with a revolutionary combo system, the game introduced a new set of challengers to fight alongside the original Street Fighter II cast. In addition to the classic characters of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison, take control of four brand-new characters in exciting head-to-head fighting game play. Choose T. Hawk and his unmatched strength to crush your opponents, use Deejay's unrivaled kickboxing ability to defeat your opponents, unleash your inner dragon with the furious kung fu of Fei Long and drill your rivals with the deadly beauty of Cammy. Get ready for the Street Fighter tournament and the fight of your life. |
Lolo 2 is sweet, it's pretty taxing on the puzzle senses.

So are they permanently moving to two a week now?

I remember making fun of people buying Super Street Fighter (though very few did - you can buy used copies for less than the VC) because it was basically an expansion pack of the Street Fighter everyone already had, but for $60 - adjusted for inflation, that's about $100. So I guess $10 isn't too bad...

more games I have no interest in. maybe Conker or Banjo Kazooie will be released in my lifetime.
|
No kidding.
Nintendo's really dropped the ball with the VC, IMO. |

I'd love to see Mario RPG on the VC, but I wonder if S-E is holding the process up for some unnecessary reason. Unless they want to re-release it for the DS in Japan first. |
I downloaded SF II when it was released and I may have to double dip for Super SF II. I loved playing that game back in the day.

Yes. Nintendo sold their stake in Rare allowing MS to buy them up. Hence, MS owns all Rare developed properties like Banjo, Conker, Blast Corps, Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, etc. Nintendo obviously keeps theirs(Donkey Kong, Diddy, Starfox, etc)

The last game I was interested buying (and did buy) on the VC was SMB3. Everything since has interested me 0%.

It's Good News / Bad News time...
The bad news is that there's only ONE game coming for the Virtual Console this Monday... 1080 Snowboarding for the N64 (1000 Wii Points). The good news (for me, anyway) is that Hudson has unveiled two VC releases for February: Psychosis and... LORDS OF THUNDER! WOOOOOO!!!! *does the happy dance* No exact release dates in February have been set, though. |
Anyone else excited about the news that Sega Master System (and maybe some Game Gear) games will be coming to the VC soon?

Anyone else excited with the announcement that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will have some VC demos in it? The Big N really needs to have this feature in the Wii Shop Channel. |
I have still yet to buy a VC game. I keep looking though. I think I may get SMB3 and SMWorld.
I never owned a SNES, N64, TG16 and NEOGEO, so a lot of these are new to me. I was going to get Mario Kart 64, but reviews seemed lacking on it. I mainly like sports games, but Mario has always been fun. So, any suggestions for me? I know I asked before at some point...but I'm hesitant to buy anything, as some older games don't seem to hold up well. I'm also hesitant to buy any Genesis games, as some have arrived on the 360 (which I would rather have if I had the choice). |

Thanks....SMW for sure. I never liked Castlevania....I downloaded the demo for the 360 XBLA one, did not enjoy. I know I played some SNES/N64 games back in the day, just never owned....it was just NES -> Sega Genesis -> PS2 -> XBOX -> 360/Wii/Ps3 :)

FWI, Super Castlevania plays a lot more like an old-school arcade game where you just go straight through a linear level, fight a boss and move on, it's a lot more platform/action oriented than the one on XBLA - whereas that one follows the gameplay perfected by Super Metroid, where you explore and gain power-ups that allow you to explore further.
