So, I've just learned about the tokens from this thread. I apparently need to add a lot of people still though, as I saw very few black names in my list.

My code is: 1328 8257 5019 9936

Same with me, I gotta finish MP2 first. I find I don't enjoy it as much as the original. But the more progress I make the better it gets...but yeah, when you first have to deal with the dark world, what a pain in the arse...

Agreed...and I don't mind a dark world per se if it's well done (Link to the Past, for instance) but in this case, it's counterintuitive and aggrevating. Plus the bosses are hard enough without having to worry about whether or not you're in a light bubble.

At any rate, I'm about half way through, and you're right...it does get better as a go...but I don't think I've ever cursed so much at a video game.

As much as I'd like to play MP3 while the rest of you guys are still talking about it, I've gotta get through this game or I'll never go back.

New Page Update: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Friend List

Additions (or updates) from the last list are marked with a tilde.

The game uses your standard WiiConnect24 code to connect to other owners of Metroid Prime 3 to trade friend tokens for unlocking extras. You MUST turn this on in your Metroid Prime 3 extras menu first and foremost.. then you will have access to your friend list and anyone on there with a copy of the game will appear in black. Clicking on a name allows you send a token to that person. Be sure to send a token in return for receiving one! Also, if you are adding people to your list, be sure to indicate exactly who you are adding (or if you are adding everyone) so that the corresponding parties can add you in turn.

If you do not own the game and you're on this list, please let me know so I can avoid clutter, we have a thread for general friend code trading. I tried to discern from previous posts on whether someone had bought it or not, but a couple of them were ambiguous and I might have added a couple in sheer haste.

The following members have indicated that they own the game through their posts but their friend codes were not in their signatures. If you post your friend code here I will add you to the master list. Also, if you own the game, haven't posted yet and want on the list, just post your code and it shall be done.

Sorry to anyone who might have sent me a token lately, I haven't been home to check in on the game. If anyone has, I will be sending back friend tokens the first chance I get.

you can rack up an easy 10 green vouchers by starting a new game and just making to the portion where you first meet the small bugs. you can just roll into a morphball and keep hitting the bomb for 10mins or so to rack up 1000 kills fast w/ no risk

I added PixyJunket, Michael Corvin, and spainlinx0 just now.

I finally got past
Spoiler:
the part where you have to pull the three levers with those annoying things flying around and undoing it everything
. I would be farther, but going back and forth between playing this and Bioshock.

I got a lot of play time in over the long weekend, and I think I'm pretty far along. To give some idea of how far, I think my total time is around 11 hours, and I'm at about 55/100 pickups. I just got the
Spoiler:
Spider Ball and Hazard Suit,
and this might end up as my favorite of the Prime games. After the initial scenes, there isn't much in the way of cutscenes and voice acting, and it settles into the familiar Metroid Prime feel. The controls do add a lot to the game, and although the game does give you hints on where to go next, you can ignore them and explore wherever you want. The boss fights are excellent, and as Pixy mentioned, the Xenomorph Research scene is definitely a highlight. All in all, this is a fantastic game.

I'd say it's my least favorite of the three.. but bear in my that means it's the least favorite of three of my favorite games, so it's still effing awesome. I just found it way too easy and I was very annoyed that they showed you the location of every hidden item on the map (which is optional, but you don't know that when you activate it). I was also a little annoyed that they failed to actually give Metroid Prime any sort of reprise unless you still remembered (on your own) that Dark Samus is Metroid Prime. On that topic, Dark Samus again? Really? And why do we fight Ridley seventeen times through three Prime games and you can't give us a 3D Kraid? Finally, they make Samus pretty much the subservient bitch of the Federation and the other Hunters.. ugh. Granted, those are all fairly minor annoyances.. but compared to the first two games they drop it down a little notch.

Ah, since you mentioned the Xenomorph scene, and this is a (huge) problem with all three Prime games, I've got to complain on this: WHY ARE METROIDS THE WEAKEST ENEMIES IN THE GAME? Seriously, they're supposed to be the threat of the entire galaxy and can be taken out in two shots and it would take over an hour to drain your energy if you let one latch on to you.

Yeah, it's definitely easy. One or two bosses were a little tricky (and I still have a while to go), but it's definitely not much of a challenge overall. I haven't seen the thing that reveals the hidden items (I'm guessing that happens later), but honestly I've never been one to go for 100% completion in these games. To be fair, I haven't played the first Prime in a while, but I'm definitely having more fun with this than I was having with Echoes. I haven't paid much attention to the story, so that stuff doesn't bug me much. As for being the Federation's bitch, she is a bounty hunter. She has to do what her employer tells her to. I strongly agree about the weak Metroids. I thought the same thing after I first encountered them. It's odd that they're vulnerable to standard beams and not just the famous ice/missile combo.

I'll finish up Echoes after I'm done with Corruption and see if my opinion on it changes. Then at some point I'll go through MP1 yet again and refresh my memory.

I think I died on a boss once, Rundas, and that was likely just due to me still learning the controls (or more accurately: me learning to pay attention to my damn cursor in advanced mode). I did become corrupted a couple of times, which was funny. For the items thing, I always felt that was one of the joys of the series, finding the hidden items.. and there's always been enough visual and audible clues to help you out, so actually marking the maps with their EXACT locations was a bit insulting to the explorer in me. I think it would have been better to just have a little "20/30" counter indicating that you've found twenty of thirty items on that planet.. and let you work the other five out using the other clues.. espeically given that all the hidden stuff is superfluous. Granted, by the time I got to that.. I had swept the areas so well that other than a few locations I had mentally bookmarked to return to with new exploratory items, I think there were five or less items I flat out just missed the first time around.

Here's a real fanboy/canon nitpick I've got.. ice missiles. In Metroid Fusion, Samus is unable to use the ice beam due to conflicts with her Metroid DNA. So the ice missiles are researched and developed during that mission to bypass her newfound weakness to cold. Introducing them here, still taking place before Metroid II, let alone Metroid IV, is a bit of bummer. But that's definitely a nitpick and doesn't really affect the game as the other stuff I mentioned does (which barely affected the game as is).

I have become corrupted a couple of times already. I guess I'm not really understanding how it works. It's easy to empty the gauge though so no big deal.

Basically, if you are in Hyper Mode for more than a few seconds it starts to take over your body and if the phazon level fills over the meter, you die (well, you game over at least). Keep in mind that enemies in Hyper Mode shoot phazon and that'll jump your phazon level a lot.. and space pirates carry phazon bombs which will force you into Hyper Mode if you're not in it.. and basically instantly overload you if you are.

Er... hrm... right, so I think I need a little help here. I entered in all of the Wii friend codes into my address book, but when I go to the "Friend vouchers" menu in MP3, it says "your friend roster is currently empty". Did I enter all of the friend codes into the wrong place?

Do you have WiiConnect24 turned on in the Wii system menu?

Or did you systematically enter thirty friend codes incorrectly?

Personally, I'd rather be done with both. Advance the franchise a little more. I don't want or need fight either one ever again. Give me something fresh. A boss or two as memorable as them to add to the lore.

I do have Wiiconnect24 turned on in the system menu and in the MP3 settings. When I'm in the Wii Message Board, and try to send a message, I click on one of the names in the address book (they are all grey), then a box comes up that says "Confirming registration... You must register one another to be able to exchange messages." with an "OK" box below it. I click the ok box, but everyone stays grey. If I click the "register" button in the address book, enter a Wii friend code that I've already entered in the address book, it says "That Wii number is already registered". I certainly must be doing something wrong .

Maybe they have to sign up and "connect" to you? I don't know if it will connect if no one has logged on since you input them. Of course, I'm just guessing here.

The Ridley boss fights have always been different. I mean, would it REALLY be "advancing" the series if the fight down the mine shaft in Corruption was EXACTLY the same except the character had a different graphic and name? I don't think so. Anyway, my contention is mostly that Ridley was used so often in the Prime games and there were other old bosses they could have redone in 3D that could have been pretty cool. Like, oh, an Omega Metroid.. or Crocomire.
