Tourney Rules
1. Double elimination tournament, random pairings, North American region
2. You will have one week per round to coordinate a game with your opponent and post the results. Please use the site’s PM feature to work out a time you both can play. (Each player only has to play one tourney match a week, but if you want to play the next person in your bracket you are more than welcome. Remember this is double elimination so you aren't out until you lose two matches.)
3. Report your match results here in this thread.
4. No cheats allowed
5. One player on each team, no guests
6. Match rules: Best of 3 games, time limit 3:00 (to match ranked matches). Rookie level (so that player skill wins the day, not CPU).
7. A new coliseum will be selected for each round by the tourney organizer.

I noticed in the other thread that the person I am paired against in the first round indicated they did not want to be in the tourney. I will contact them, but just wanted to let you know.

I've never been too big on sports, so I'm not sure how this bracket works... is the final match going to be the person on the left vs. the person on the right? And I'm not at all clear on how the A's, B's, etc... work.

My match is against jdpatri. Lets say I lose and he wins. My name goes to the left and his goes to the right. Now he is matched with pinata242. Lets say jdpatri wins again, does pinata242 go to the "A" slot on the lower left? Now for me. I lost this first match in this scenario, so I am on the left. I have the bye next round obviously, so moving on the the third round - I would be paired with the loser of the lower right second round, and if I win I move on to the left, but if I lose then I'm out.

That makes sense, but is it correct?

Damn, my mistake. The good news is that you get a bye this round.

I did send him a message to see if he was interested in the tourney (in case circumstances had changed). I will let you know if he changed his mind.

You understand correctly. It'll make more sense tomorrow morning when I update the bracket.

We should be having our match tonight, barring any difficulties. So when you people played each other, did you ever see each other online at other times? What did the status say?

If somebody is online you'll see them as "Connected" (something like that, the status is in green) or "Busy" (in red) on your friend roster.

We could play tomorrow night if you wanted to Groucho.

jdpatri and I are going to try and get our match in tomorrow.

And you'll never know who my captain might be! I change every thirty minutes. All I know is that I think Waluigi's pretty darn useless.
