Best PC RTS
I finally upgraded my computer, and now am finally able to play some of the newer RTS(s). I've been looking through IGN, and only have enough money to purchase one or two, which of the games above would you recommend, or would you like to through in a recommendation of something thats not up there.
Thanks for all your help |
CoH without a doubt.

age of empire and company of heros

The Battle for Middle Earth II is pretty good.
|
Company of Heroes, not only is it one of the most entertaining, refined RTS games in a long time, the graphics are amazing and will really push your PC.
|
I haven't tried any of those yet but the one I've had the most fun w/ recently is the Dawn of War series.
|
Out of the games listed, I've only played C&C 3, SC and CoH and have enjoyed CoH the most.
|
I haven't played a PC RTS in a while, but I loved WC3.
|
I loved Company of Heroes. Really great game. Got the strategy guide at Best Buy for a penny and that helped.

Decker, How did you manage that?

Keep your eyes out for them; I saw them in stock at my local BB not that long ago. They keep PC guides near the PC games, not with the console strat guides.

Bungie's 'Myth II: Soulblighter'. I loved that game back in the day! :D

Why even ask?

Another vote for Company of Heroes.
The game is just fun. Well balanced (be sure and get the latest patch, I think it's 1.70 right now). Different strategies. i.e. Armored division, Airborne, etc. Amazing physics and graphics to really push your PC. You said you just upgraded your PC? This is the game to put your hardware to the test. It includes a run-through test that will tell you highest, avg, and lowest frame per second your hardware can achieve with the game at it's current setting. Make adjustments to the video settings and run the test again if you need to. |
Question about Company of Heroes,
To patch the game, is there any patch for 1.00 to 1.7, I was looking on their website and I saw only incremental patches 1.1 to 1.2, and so on. Yeah, I just upgraded my PC. The only thing I'm worried about is having only 1gb of RAM, its the max my PC can handle, otherwise I would have more. So I just upgraded to a Radeon X1950 Pro, an Antec Trio 650-Watt Power Supply, and went from 512mb to 1gb of RAM. Good Choices? |
