Peter Moore leaves MS for EA
Is this the billion dollar fall out? Too hot in the kitchen?

I'm curious what effect, if any, this will have on the 360's strategy and on whether EA is going to have any obvious preference for the MS machine... interesting indeed...

I really doubt it would cause EA to have any pro-MS influence. EA's mission (like any company) is to make as much money as possible. Based on that mission, they would be foolish to limit their franchises to one particular console.
If Moore does steer the company away from the potential cash on the other consoles in favor of MS, I'd imagine the EA shareholders will have his head on a stake (figuratively, of course).

I never thought about one of the companies trying to buy one of the 4 divisions outright. That would be a heck of a steal for the company that did that.

If Sony picked up the division it would make them champ imo. I really think sports titles would be enough to drive the gamers to whatever console had them.

Fraternity? Hell that would wipe out the wanna-be gangsta market as well.

Totally unrelated to games, but related to your post, I saw a 7 year old kid wearing a Scarface T-shirt last week.

I love that, it makes the thugs/wanna be thugs look rediculous when the sport the same thing, like my personal favorite the sideways hat. When every 8 year old white suburban kid in America is doing it, there is no street cred.

this thread seems dead already anyway so...
[off topic music post]
My favorite album of the year addresses this topic, Scarsick by Pain of Salvation. Here's one verse from the track Cribcaged:
So fuck the million dollar kitchen
Fuck the Al Pacino posters
Fuck the drugs, the gold, the strip poles
Fuck the homies, fuck the poses
Fuck the walls they build around them
Fuck the bedroom magic nonsense
I don't want to hear their voices
As long as they vote with their wallets
Fuck the silly "throw you out" joke
Fuck the framed cigar DeNiro smoked
Fuck their lack of originality and personality
Fuck this travesty
Fuck this new norm
Fuck conformity
Fuck their Kristal
Fuck their sordity
Fuck the way they fuck equality
Fuck their freebie gear
Fuck the ones they wear
You're just people...
It looks petty reading it versus hearing, as it is a well crafted song. That's the only verse with the simplified and overstated "fuck" phrasing, the whole song isn't like that. Cribcaged: Full Lyrics
And if you found that mildly interesting, a much better song, Spitfall, off the same album, adresses the modern rap phenomenon as well. A better read too, just too long to post in an off topic reply. Lyrics here.

while I can't argue about the validity of some of those statements, not ALL rap falls under that collective umbrella of suck-itude
check out some Talib Kweli or some Deltron 3030

Deltron! Sweet artist/group.
Personally i swear by Saul Williams. It does not get any better than his work since he started out as a poet doing slams.
