Actually most of the 360 launch titles got a lot of flack for looking like Xbox games. Kameo got a lot of flack because there are parts of the game that you can tell were designed on the 360 vs. Gamecube/xbox levels that didn't get as much polish.

That's different. Many games start development on one system and are later switched to another system. Kameo was never released on any system other than the 360. Twilight Princess and Resident Evil 4 are Gamecube games through and through. The Wii versions are simply ports of the Cube games with added Wiimote support.

They could just make it a lightsaber handle with maybe a detachable blade.

Super Paper Mario and Mario Party 8 started as Cube titles and Zelda could have easily never been released on Cube. It was only released there after basically promising it would be a year earlier.

Groucho 07-11-07 10:34 AM

If you want to get technical, Kameo was originally a GameCube game as well.

But the bottom line is that all consoles end up getting a lot of carryovers from the last generation in their first year.

Watched the Microsoft conf this morning on my DVR. Screw G4 with their commercial breaks during the live event -ohbfrank-

That's why I'm going to sit here and watch the Nintendo one streaming from Gamespot. 25 minutes and counting. I sure hope they have something worth getting excited over, unlike the snore-fest I watched this morning.

I'd just be happy with a handful of surprises, just new games being announced. I don't need anything earth-shattering (though that's always fun). Metroid DS is probably my biggest want. Sadly, I won't be able to watch this one, I'll just be keeping up with the chat here.

Five minutes! Let's hope the presentation starts off with some high-schoolers playing the Mario theme.

Huh? The reason party games are brought up in regards to the Wii are because of the abudance of them on that particular system. Not complaints regarding having them in general, let alone their quality.

But he's happy. :)

Yeah, he's just talking about the great sales and the "audience expansion" so far.

dan30oly 07-11-07 11:08 AM

Those game industry "growth" numbers seem skewed somehow.

PixyJunket 07-11-07 11:08 AM

For the love of all that is holy, NO SONIC IN SMASH BROS. PLEASE! He is a disease.

Jeremy517 07-11-07 11:08 AM

Sales are up... non-gamers like the Wii and DS... blah blah blah.

UncleGramps 07-11-07 11:08 AM

Marketing data sure is boring.

Hmm...for some reason I've just been banned as a "vandal." :hscratch:

dan30oly 07-11-07 11:12 AM

seriously, where is this guy getting his numbers from?

Jeremy517 07-11-07 11:12 AM

Women and old people like the DS and Wii... blah blah blah.

Michael Corvin 07-11-07 11:12 AM

Hmmm... all that growth in 18-24 demo makes it look good for future "hardcore" titles.

raven56706 07-11-07 11:13 AM

140 more DS titles and 100 more Wii games coming by the end of the year.

pinata242 07-11-07 11:17 AM

Here we go!

Michael Corvin 07-11-07 11:17 AM

100 new Wii games by the end of the year? No fucking way.
