This one will probably be pricey, but I agree the rest are pack ins so no big deal.

I don't get them closing the show with this though. Guess they really are all about the casuals now.

Is it over now?

I don't see any reason it would be expensive. I doubt the sensor pad costs much. If Wii Play can be $50, so can this.

Bandit03 07-11-07 12:14 PM

Wii Fit actually looks pretty interesting as long as the price is right

KurrptSenate 07-11-07 12:14 PM

i think they realize that its more about investors than gamers in general

Michael Corvin 07-11-07 12:14 PM

alright. That looks kinda fun.

I have to admit, Wii Fit is catching my interest. If it's actually used as a good workout, the stats and tracking could be good motivators to keep at it. I'll keep my eye on it for more details but it could be a potential buy for me.

10:15 a.m.: Trinen, Miyamoto and Reggie take part in a soccer-heading competition in Wii Fit. They all stand on the balance boards. Soccer balls fly toward them and they have to basically lean to the left or right sides to avoird the balls. Reggie does quite well.

raven56706 07-11-07 12:15 PM

i am pretty much sold and now will be the proud owner of all 3 consoles

darkside 07-11-07 12:16 PM

Reggie kicks his ass and takes his name.

Okay the Soccer thing was fun.

Agreed. Appeared pretty basic at first, but I guess it can be as deep as you want it to be and put into it.

I picked up EyeToy Kinetic on the cheap a while back and stuck with it for about a month before losing interest. That said, Wii Fit looks like it has potential. If it's cheap enough, I'll probably pick it up.

Bandit03 07-11-07 12:17 PM

Not sure if I missed it but did they give a release timeframe for Wii Fit?

Michael Corvin 07-11-07 12:18 PM

Hmm. He didn't give a price or pack in mention to WiiFit.

darkside 07-11-07 12:18 PM

The game itself is as simple as Wii sports, so they probably will sell it for $50. My wife will want it.

UncleGramps 07-11-07 12:18 PM

And it's over. To me it seemed comparable to the Microsoft briefing. Solid but not remarkable.

raven56706 07-11-07 12:18 PM

10:17 a.m.: Show is over. Madness begins.

10:16 a.m.: "Minute by minute, we intend to steal more of that [leisure] time," he says, noting that people have many entertainment options at their disposal, from iPods to movies.

PixyJunket 07-11-07 12:19 PM

Dammit Nintendo, you've got us wanting to buy an exercise game. -ohbfrank-

Yup, sounds just like that. They at least showed off more new product though.

Now, let's see if Sony can take it up a notch (or down).

raven56706 07-11-07 12:20 PM

whoever thought we would see the day where a video game system would help us lose weight

Same here. I think they both played it close to the vest. Neither has much to prove, just keep on truckin'. I'd give a slight edge to MS just for showing more actual footage of the games.

I guess that's what the internet is for. An internet I can get to on my Wii but not my 360. ;)

Jeremy517 07-11-07 12:20 PM

Whether or not I buy Wii Fit will depend on how many other games use the pad. If it is just that, I'll probably pass.

Noonan 07-11-07 12:21 PM

Zelda and Metroid are really the only two things shown that I'm interested in. And I've already imported and finished Zelda.

Do they really think all these "older gamers" this whole presentation was geared towards are into games enough to watch an E3 conference?
