You can't do anything once they start healing you, believe me, I tried.

you can yell hey stop healing me I'm trying to get my achievement. That doesn't work on bots though.

I don't know man. Like I said it happened to me twice by accident. I wasn't going for any achievement and I needed the Healing. I guess it must have been a timing thing because I ended up not healed. I think I pulled up my own healing just as they were saying, "Here, you need..." then they stopped once my Med kit and Pills showed up on my hand.

Playing on expert and its extremely tough. So far after about 10hrs we have only managed to past the first 2 levels lol. Still fun as hell though.

Expert is a bitch!!!! I was playing with a couple of friends and we couldn't get past the 2nd chapter. Maybe I need new friends. LOL

Yeah Expert kicked my ass, it is more fun for the challenge.

I really need to get into an 8 player VS. match. I've done 3 on 3, but never been in a full group as of yet. :(

4 v 4 versus is some of the most fun co-op I've played. Definitely a lot of fun beating on randoms with a group of friends, but even more fun with 8 friends.

This game reminds me of the Resident Evil Outbreak series, only with less story and characterization, but better controls and gameplay.

If they make a sequel, I'd like to see more weapons... melee weapons even? A chainsaw would be fun. And the ability to play as an infected in a single player setting would be fun as well. Also for single player, I'd like to be able to give the bots a bit of simple instruction.

A chainsaw would be fun, but one thing I like about L4D is that it simplified the FPS experience and drops you right into the action. Not much sneaky stealth, no fancy cover mechanic other than "hide behind the big thing", not much weapons management (bad enough on a PC keyboard, even worse on a console controller). Adding additional melee weapons, unless they were always-on once picked up, would detract from that, in my
opinion.
I guess L4D appeals to a lot of the "hardcore" gamers (whatever they are), but honestly, I find it more pick-up-and-play than lots of alleged p-u-a-p games. This moves, this shoots, this whacks, this is heal; that's enough to get people into the game.
Your other points I agree with, I to would like to try the infected in SP and would like the opportunity to direct the bots a bit.

After playing this on a rental and loving it, I finally had the dough to pick it up... so a lot more Zombie action coming up for me!

On expert I only made it 2/3 through the second chapter of No Mercy. After about a dozen tries at that level I quit. I did manage to get my 'Heal Someone with less than 10% health' achievement, though. Mainly because the bots had finally used all their healing packs and couldn't heal me and it was early in the level so I figured I wasn't going to beat it that go-round anyway.

I was playing Death Toll online 4 player co-op on Normal and man we got nailed. I guess that AI Director decided we were doing too good because it kept throwing Tanks at us like no one's business. I can't seem to make it through Death Toll!! :lol:

I find that it's too difficult to get through Expert playing just with bots. You really need to have good planning & strategy on that difficulty level, and that's very difficult to do with bots. You can't get them all to get in a specific room with you, or run away from the tank, or whatever.

On expert, you really have to have a good group of ppl working together, and then have some luck on your side. People in the front need to crouch, ppl in the back need to cover the rear, hold their fire & not fire wildly. You have to move together as a team and not run wildly in every direction.

I was part of a group that made it through Death Toll on Expert. Well, I joined during the finale. It took us probably 5 or 6 tries to do the finale in expert. Once you get to the boathouse, one good place to defend is the bathroom that is on the ground floor near the back of the house. Have 2 ppl up on the sink & toilet & the other 2 crouched on the floor. When the tank comes, make sure you have a molotov ready, and have one person on the minigun if he comes from that direction.

Tanks will burn to death in about 40 seconds - so if you can light them up, just run away until it dies.

Yeah, the bots made it impossible for me to pass expert on that room where you have to open the shutters in the second stage of No Mercy. Strategically speaking, if one person takes the minigun, one person guards the hole in the room behind the minigun, and the other two guard the area in between, that room shouldn't be too terribly difficult. But the bots *never* get behind the minigun when I play that level, instead wandering around the area in front of the minigun, allowing the zombies to attack me from the back AND getting in the way of the minigun fire.

Try setting up shop on the stairs going into that room, easier to hold imo.

Okay, the 3rd person mode looked pretty cool. But most of that was just garbage and I can't see how anyone finds that sort of thing fun.
