Finished up the campaign today, and I have to say I was pretty impressed with this go around. I thought it did a really fantastic job of balancing intense challenge with moments of bursts of feeling like an unstoppable badass engine of death. I'd love to see a Doom II: Hell on Earth in this vein.

I saw something about some latest free DLC patch/update that you can now play against "Bots".....is this something like a combination Player/Bots vs Bots like it was in Gears of War? In it you could go in alone or with other player(s) and have Bots fill in the rest of the team and go against entire Bots setting the difficulty......
...or is this straight up MP with Human & Bots on each team?

I bought the game during Black Friday for $15. I had played the game earlier in the year and really liked it, so this was a steal for that price. Not been able to play it so far as it kicked off right away with needing a 22gb update. Finished updating at some point, but got too involved with other games i am working through.
Looking forward to getting back to this one though. Really enjoyed what i played before. Old school blasting.

A nice documentary on iD, the cancelled Doom 4, and creation of this version of Doom.

Re: Doom (5/13/2016: Xb1, ps4, pc)
Finally got around to finishing this today. A bit of a slog for me despite all the GOTY praise - combat was ok but got repetitive fast, hated the upgrade systems, and wish the story was better. Yeah, I know it's funny to complain about story in a shooter like Doom given the legacy of the title, but Wolfenstein was able to do it Gorgeous game on PC with the right hardware though, with the combat fast and smooth on my system. Nothing do difficult on Hurt Me Plenty for me, with a couple of the bosses taking a death or two to get past.
Wish I enjoyed it as much as everyone else seemed to. Oh well.

Aargh. I got the blue skull glitch in the Necropolis. There's a checkpoint save when you pick up the blue skull, but it saved with the skull in my inventory but the gate to the portal still closed. There is no way to progress. My save had already synced to the cloud, so I'm completely screwed. I'm near the end of the game, and my only option is to delete my save and start all over.
I've seen a bunch of other complaints about this bug, but I haven't come across any solutions.

Single player, yeah. Mission 11. Another person who ran into this said he got the skull, the gate opened, and as he ran around picking up power-ups, the gate closed. I didn't pay particular attention to the gate opening/closing, but I definitely was jumping around all over getting goodies. So, don't do that, I guess!
I'm annoyed with myself because when I was taking a break from work when I ran into that bug, so I figured that would be a good place to just put the console in rest mode and get some more work done for a bit. My broken save was synced to the cloud almost immediately afterwards. If I hadn't put the PS4 in rest mode, I could've just downloaded that save and not lost 15 hours of progress or whatever. Now I don't seem to have any recourse but starting from scratch again, and I'm not doing that anytime soon.

I see a Mission Select to choose completed missions, and I see Restart Checkpoint, which takes me to that glitched area, but how do I restart my current mission? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

I'm not sure about the PS4 version, but on the PC version, when you pause while in-game, the menu that comes up has resume, load checkpoint, restart mission, exit to main menu.

I didn't time it, but maybe 13 hours, give or take? It depends on how much exploring you feel like doing too.

My play through was about 12 hours. It's all linear levels but there are a boatload of secrets, like the good ol' days.
My favorites are still strolling along and stumbling into classic Doom for a second.

My Steam time played shows 11 hours for Doom, although I didn't spend a lot of time looking for secrets after the first few levels.

Well good...that's what I wanted to know. I still have yet to crack my copy open even after months of having it. With some games coming down the pike...Horizon: Zero Dawn, For Honor and Ghost Recon: Wildlands...I've tried to zero in finishing some games....which I did with Titanfall 2(SP campaign only) and Shadow of Mordor this week. I'll probably get on this, wrap up the SP and have that to trade in.

HaHaHa....my unfinished pile is and probably just as bad. Reason why I asked about Doom....I'm still going between Borderlands: The prequel, Dying Light, some Far Cry 4, dabbling in Diablo III which never gets old, Battleborne and still have Fallout 4 & Bloodborne which I haven't touched in months. I've almost given up on Destiny simply because it's getting that feeling of getting worn, old and not getting anywhere and The Division stuck on and we need higher level friends to help us thru the higher levels which we cannot find.

I'm only two missions in so far, but the soundtrack in this game is fucking awesome. I immediately added it to Spotify.
One thing that is messing with me a bit is the movement speed. Playing on a projector is a bit disorienting at times, especially in these hectic battles.
