That would be a negative, release day was set for the 14th and is still showing the 14th everywhere that I had just checked. (Best Buy, Circuit City, GameStop, EBGames, Funcoland)

I just called up the store and told them what the employee said and they just said 'Yeah it was pushed to the 20th, then pushed back to the 13th. So It'll be here the 13th'

Besides, I wouldn't base my decision to buy a game solely on how I like a demo. I have played plenty of demos that were lacking, but the full games were better.
Hope you didn't buy Halo 3, Half Life Orange Box or Call Of Duty 4 then.
Nope didn't buy Halo and don't plan to. I picked up Orange Box for the PC but only because it was 34.99 and I had extra giftcards. COD4 had a PC demo which is what I bought it for.

I don't base my decisions solely on demos but the demo definitely gives a better idea on how I will like a game more so than just reviews and video.
I may eventually rent it once I find enough games to try to justify going signing up for gamefly again.
Thats the pre-release... if you went on the site, thats the day they ship out the games that people had ordered online so they arrive the next day in the mail.
They tried to make a demo, but then scrapped it because there was no possible way to make a demo without spoiling the plot because the story line is so infused with the game.
I don't even understand why they're keeping the plot such a secret, as it's mostly laid out in the intro of the game - if it was a twist at the end, or half-way through, then I would understand the secrecy (and there just may be another twist), but since it's the intro they're keeping secret, it makes less sense.

And you know there isn't more in store for the story... how?
The plot has never been released to the public thus far, except for the fact that your an anti-hero who assassinates corrupted politicians and church officials...
Someone over at CAG posted that the Sunday Fry's ad in Seattle listed AC at $39.99. But I just can't help but think that's a misprint. Especially since this is one of the most anticipated games of the year. A game that (most) people would gladly pay $59.99 for.
Either that or it's the fastest price drop for a 360 game since, um, All-Pro Football 2K8.

Fry's had Ghost Recon 2 for $39 when it came out too.
I just read the EGM preview, where they gave the developer a chance to show how much it had improved since the disappointing E3 build. They still don't seem to care for it too much.
Was that still an older build that they previewed? It seems like the buzz is positive again.

I'm mildly looking forward to this game. Aren't you guys worried about the alleged confusing control scheme? EGM made it sound like you need to push up, click R and tap Y just to turn your head to the right and run straight. Sounds way too confusing to me.

Hah I just called GameStop and asked if I could get the difference in store credit. I mentioned the price and the guy nearly had a heartattack. "Wha-what?! You're kidding!" He told me to bring in the ad and 'we'll see what's up.'

LA's Frys ad also has it for $39.99. It's not a price drop, it's just a sale. They used to do this all the time with new Xbox games in the past, selling it for $34.99
If I do decide to buy this game, I'll just price match it at CC. The employees there never call Fry's and they just price match it right away.

Yeah, I remember mentioning the sale price Fry's had for GR2 had to Gamestop and they couldn't believe it either. But as fumanstan said, Fry's probably won't have enough on hand (at that price, the only way you're getting it on release day is if you're right there when they put them on the racks - they only get about 10-15 at a time). And GS won't price-match if Fry's is out of stock. But if they are sold-out, you can always get a rain-check for that price. Though you may have to wait about a week. But I guess that's worth the $20 savings.
