BlackSite: Area 51
Well, with the demo being released on Xbox Live, it appears to be generating a lot of traffic on other forums. I wanted to get other 360 owners views on this game. I thought is looked fantastic! I also think it will end up being the sleeper FPS of the year. The physics and graphical touches are amazing. What do you think?

I'm definitely more interested in it than I was before after playing the demo. The only problem I saw which I'd assume will be fleshed out was when I jumped down into the sewage ravine the AI controlled characters got stuck and would not follow me down. They just ran in place.
Otherwise this has been put on my radar for sure. It's looking very nice!!! |
Glad you brought this up. I had totally forgot about this game. I'd like to hear more on the plot and story line but other than that it does have allot going for it. First it is using the "Unreal 3 Engine" and second it's being developed by Midway which by the way is also doing none other than Unreal Tournament 3.
The other pros are the comand squad looks and sounds close to Rainbow Six but with a few extra commands. Of course the big deal is with MP with the normal Deathmatch (team & single), capture the flag and pit humans vs. reborns. It also will have the important co-op play to boot. The web site is pretty cool and has some nice details. http://www.blacksitegame.com/ Kenny J - Buzz Starhopper |
The Demo is alright. I didn't like the way the shooting was handled but this is a common FPS issue with me. Some games like GOW and RS:Vegas do a good job of making the gun feel like they're really doing something. I mean you really feel the gunfire. Other FPS's handle the guns and shooting like you're using a spitball shooter. It's hard for me to explain so I hope some of you get what I mean.
Also, I know I'm in the minority here but I really wish FPS's would allow a 3rd person view option. I guess that changes the point of FPS's but I like the wider view given by 3rd person viewing. |
I was kinda meh on the demo. It was pretty fun and some of the bigger bad guys seemed pretty cool but there's nothing that really made it stand out among the vast fields of fps we have to choose from.

So is this a follow up to the Area 51 game awhile ago, or something new?
|
I liked the demo. The gameplay had a good feel to it, kind of like a cross between Halo and something like Rainbow Six.
Is there any word about whether there is going to be an on deathmatch mode? |

It's a new entry in the franchise. From everything I've read about it there's little to no connection to the events in the Area 51 game on PS2/Xbox |
I thought the demo was pretty darn good. Graphically it seemed pretty sharp and the gameplay was smooth also. I enjoyed the demo and will eventually pick it up.

Right!! That's what I meant! |

I would be down for playing as I did play a lot online but I don't have the game anymore. Sorry.

Re: BlackSite: Area 51
Yea...my copy went bye-bye almost a year ago. Not a bad game at all but toward the last part I encountered issues and bugs. Decent storyline and look to....had fun with it and for under $22.00 worth it.

Re: BlackSite: Area 51
heh heh that's ok, no easy achievements for me then. Yeah their's like 1 or 2 people on there so never enough for the 4 minimum.
