Did Rygar return from the dead to steal back his 20-year old thunder from the God of War?

Actually, there was a new Rygar game for the PS2 before God of War came out.

I remember staying up all night and beating Rygar. I was just in the zone. Never came close again. Great game.

Tecmo is supporting VC. It'll be there eventually.

Yeah, but it was more like the arcade version, not the NES version.

Yeah.. actually I own it.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure.

It's a pretty good game. Maybe I'll play it again to see if it makes me excited for a new Wii version.

Just curious, can Tecmo use the NFL license? I know the players are retired now, just curious how that works.

No. I'm assuming that they'll be shooting to make an arcade-like football game since I believe we've been lacking in that category for a while (even Blitz has become too sim-like recently). If they can pull it off gameplay wise, I'm in, NFL or not. I'd rather have a fun football game with made-up teams than a crumbly sim with the real players personally.

Hmm. Missed that one. I prefer to think that a little 8-bit, 2-dimensional Rygar crawled out of my old NES (wherever it is) to kick some ass.

I didn't care much for the PS2 Rygar game, hopefully the Wii one will be much better.

Man, I loved the original Rygar game for NES. It was pretty much like crack, once you started playing it, you couldn't stop (I'm not sure there saves allowed - were there?)

There weren't! The little save state feature of the VC will be nice in that regard when it's released.

There were no saves, and if you wanted to power up, you had to spend a tremendous amount of time killing re-spawning enemies. That game took me forever to beat the first time, but, after that time, I could play through any day and beat it, it still took several hours from what I recall.

That's another one I want on the VC. The original NG. Still one of the few games that I gave up on because of the final boss.

I've got it on my NES still and it's just as hard as ever.

Looks nice technically, but I'd prefer a 2D game to this 3Dish game with touch screen controls.

Yeah it does and I'm looking forward to it.

Although I have no idea what this has to do with Tecmo Bowl, Rygar, or the Wii.
