EB/Gamestop Buy Two Get One Free Returns
 

B2G1F on used games has returned at EB/Gamestop. Finally a good time to pick up some pricey next gen titles. Really a good deal if you have the card for an extra 10% off.

I'm about 90% going to pick up Mario Party 8 at the end of May. I'd also buy Spiderman 3 since I'm a sucker for those kind of games. That would give me a freebie.

Its only for used games, so preorders won't work.

Any idea on how long this'll be going on?

I asked the store guys this and they had no idea. I think it usually lasts at least a week.

I was able to pick up the following:

COD2 (360) perfect shape
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) Non GH looks brand new
Eternal Darkness (GC) missing manual

It came out to be around 12 bucks per game. Now, I just need to get all these darn stickers off the cases.

Has anyone seen any used Crackdowns at any of these places? Do any copies exist without the Halo 3 Beta yet?

Last week at my local Gamestop, it was only Xbox games that were B1G1F. I'll check back in this week.

My store has gotten a couple used Crackdowns. So far, all the copies we've received have had the beta.

so far just a small buy to start things off. Finding 3 games I want complete with box & instructions at one GS/EB is becoming harder and harder each time.

I would love to find a used copy of Okami. I'm going to make another try this week before the sale ends. I also want Vice City Stories, but haven't run across that one used either. Granted it is cheap anyway.

Ooh.. the problem for me would be finding three games I wanted in acceptable condition. Having bought used games from eBay and Amazon quite often.. I'm entirely convinced that EB/GameStop just mucks up used games they receive for some crazy reason (and they throw away boxes and instruction manuals), it's so hard to find something in nice condition there.

This took me some time, but I was able to get really nice copies of all the games I bought complete in the original cases with instructions. The FFXII tin had a couple of tiny scratches on the bottom corners and the Guitar Hero disc had minor scratches, but overall I was thrilled. The rest of the discs were unscratched.

One store I went to had FIVE copies, all without a box and instructions :mad:

But give it a day or two after release and there will surely be used copies.

It helps if a Best Buy is next door. You end up buying lots of mint condition used games and its usually the new releases.

Has anyone had success in using the GameInformer 10% off coupon for B2G1 at GS/EB? Would definately be nice to sweeten the deal to 20% off on top of the B2G1.

Come on, Pixy, people treat their games bad enough that we don't need to contribute to it. The ones you buy on Amazon or ebay will be in better condition because the person is looking to get the most money out of it. The people who trade in at EB and Gamestop know we'll take games that are scratched or don't have cases, so they bring a lot of them to us.

These offers usually won't stack, unless you have a buddy in the system or an uninformed employee that will do a manual override.

I'll probably hit one up again before the week is over and get a few cheapy 360 games. Probably snag COD2, Kameo & then something else (PGR3, perhaps).

Scratched-up, no box, no manual and $2 less than a new copy. :up: GameStop!

I've never accepted anything that was super-scratched. You can always ask to look at the disc before they ring you up. I'd never buy anything without a box & manual, so I agree with you there. For the $2-5 less for the used copy, I hardly will buy anything used unless it's a B2G1 deal or have some other coupon, in addition to the 10% off for the EDGE card. Then, and only then, does it come out to be a decent deal.

I went back and exchanged Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It has some irritating frame rate problems on the PS3 so I will stick with my old Xbox version. I picked up Godfather for the Wii in exchange and I have to admit it is a lot of fun to play. Played about an hour and so far I really like it.

I checked another store and also picked up Okami finally along with La Puecelle Tactics and Shadow of the Colossus. Average cost was $15.89. So far I keep having good luck. Godfather and La Pucelle Tactics are mint and Okami and Shadow of the Colossus are pretty close to it.

I only have Rogue Galaxy left that I really wanted, but I now have so much game overload that I will probably wait to find it on sale or clearance.
