yeah that's exactly what i was thinking. why battle against halo 3, when they could've done last weekend when there were alot of people on? oh well...

I've been having fun with the beta but have come to the sad conclusion that I flat out suck at multiplayer FPS games. After all this time I still only average around 5-8 kills but manage to get popped about 12 times per game. I just don't have the reflexes and quick-aiming skills required for the console control scheme. Guess I'm just destined to be cannon fodder. I'm planning to play the heck out of tonight and then that'll be it until the retail version appears.

Well to be fair the people that are always at the top of each game with kills probably play 12 hours a day. It's not that you suck it's that you actually have a life. ;)

I'm in the same boat, but I still enjoy playing.

I'm far from great at the game but I still enjoy. What also helps is playing with people you know and people from here that are relaxed and don't take the game too seriously. If I only ever played with random people I would of canceled my Live account ages ago.

Nosmo Rex 09-30-07 09:03 PM

Looks like I'll max out the beta at Level 23. The "Sleight of Hand" perk is very cool; something I'll use when the game comes out. I guess I can get back to Halo 3, now. :)

You guys ever try playing a support-type class? I got a friend who really isnt very good at close range run and gun shotting with assault rifles and stuff so he always tries to find mid-long range weapons and stays in the back. It worked for him, his kill/death ratio went through the roof rotfl

I was playing mostly free for all the past 2 or 3 weeks, and support classes don't work well for me when there's no one around to cover your ass. :)

I love using the sniper class in GRAW, though.

I can't wait for this game! I only used Live when I got the free trial with the 360 console but this game is my reason to buy in!

Not really sure how many people here are PC gamers. I just downloaded and played the PC demo for COD4...and it is freakin' intense. I know a lot really loved how the COD series upped the WW2 genre, but I think Infinity Ward's decision to have this game under modern warfare is great.

Can't wait to get this game!!!

Draven6593 10-12-07 10:58 PM

I thought the demo was too busy, too chaotic. I still enjoyed it, though.

For what it's worth, I have an AMD 3500+, 6800GT, and 2 gigs of RAM----the game plays 1680x1050 pretty well.

McHawkson 10-13-07 12:04 AM

And no one post the link to PC demo?

Draven6593 10-13-07 07:28 AM

It's all over the place...

I downloaded it from Fileplanet. I had to wait 40 minutes in a queue, but my download speeds after that were very high--it reached 1500KB/second at times.

Single-player campaign may only be around 6 hours:

http://gamernode.com/news/4759-cod4-...urs/index.html

"Call of Duty 4 is nearly upon us and reviews of the game are slowly beginning to appear with some very interesting revelations pertaining to the single-player portion of the game.

OXM UK reviewed the game in their December issue, and cited a short single-player campaign as one of the main downfalls of the title, going on to say that the game only takes "...five to six hours on Normal difficulty."

I'm pretty much getting it for multi-player, so I don't mind a short single-player campaign (as long as it's great as COD2's was). And of course, I'll still beat it on Veteran difficulty.

flashburn 10-25-07 10:57 AM

After playing the multi-player beta, a single-player campaign of any length is just icing on the cake.

The single player in COD3 was just as short, so no big surprise there... I'd be surprised if someone was buying this primarily for the single player mode...can't wait for some multiplayer action!

Can't wait for this to come out so the "regulars" can start gaming together again.

I'm normally a single-player only kind of guy, but I'll definitely get a bunch of online action in CoD4.

innocentfreak 10-25-07 12:16 PM

Other than the first COD on pc I have never beaten any of them. It is always about the multiplayer for me especiallay with all the mods out there. I can't wait to see what FK does with this one.

xmiyux 10-25-07 12:24 PM

I'm going to wait to pick it up from Gamefly. I'm probably not buying it at launch. Going to be too busy with Mass Effect, Orange Box, Halo 3.

I'm fine with the length, my biggest hope for the single player game is they get rid of the "big glowing click a button" objectives and make enough changes to the gameplay besides the modern setting.
