XBox 360 on non-HDTV
I'm thinking of buying an XBox 360, but I'm concerned that it might not be worth it until I get an HDTV. Family and friends all have one running on nice hi-def sets, and the games look GREAT. My question is, how does the XBox 360 look on a normal, 4:3, tube television? Does the interface and menus of games scale to fit the narrower aspect ratio?

The graphics are better than last-gen Xbox/PS2 even on SDTV. The biggest problem with 360 games on SD will be that text will be blurry. A few games like Dead Rising will be completely unreadable.
If you do not mind hooking your 360 up to your PC monitor, I recommend doing that. It is what I do since I don't have a HDTV. I tried playing my 360 on my SDTV first, then tried it on my monitor, and now I could never go back to SD gaming.

I play on a regular TV and it still looks great. Some things are optimized for Widescreen displays, so text during Gears of War appears really small.
