I also don't mind the flaws in the VC or emulators when I have an itch to revist an old game. I can probably count on one hand how many times I popped in a game after I beat it. There are a few exceptions of course, namely those with high Live replayability, but those are even few and far between. I did go through Eternal Darkness twice and have considered picking it up again to go through that final playthrough, but not enough to warrant spending more than $10 on it again. That is one I do regret getting rid of. I also don't mind the minor bugs that emulation brings. Mario Kart Ghost? Who cares? |

Doesn't matter how great a game is, there are just too many other games out there to try. Even if a game is so great, there is no way to recapture that magic of playing through the first time.

The SNES has Chrono Trigger (I can't stand the load times on the PS1 version). Secret of Mana. A few others. I wish these would come to the VC - I'm OK with Nintendo's emulation, ease of use, and 480p. The NES has too many good games that I'm not sure will show up on the VC. And buying each one for $5 I'm not sure I want to do, even if they did show up. I've got some other keepers on the other systems. I don't hoard games too much, but each system has at least ~8 games I want to keep at minimum. In the case of the PS2 / PS1 it's a lot more than that. I just wish they made GOOD oldschool wireless controllers. I can't really power up the old systems much with a 15mo-old running around. |

Great game, and I only had a GC at the time and the game library sucked balls at that time so I had little choice anyway. |
Yeah I did back-to-back when it first released and by the end of the second play through, I was pretty much forcing my way to the end. Like you the Gamecube was my only system at the time.
But that was back in, what, 02? Enough time has passed now that it would almost seem fresh again if I were to pick it up. |
At this very moment in time, only the PS2 is hooked up to the TV. I just moved 2 days ago. My Xbox is currently on the fritz. I have been too lazy so far to hook up the GCN. The Dreamcast is still at my old apartment since I forgot it the other night and have been too lazy so far to go back. My Wii, PS3 and 360 are still at Best Buy.

I have way too many games for all the old systems and it's really hard for me to part with any of them. With three brothers, they are always contacting me to borrow one of the old systems, that or my girlfriend is playing one of them. So it's not like they're not getting used here.
Plus it'll save me from buying any virtual console games that I already own. |
Currently connected: 360, Wii.
Available to connect: two different N64s, a Saturn, a Dreamcast, a NES, and a SNES. A friend has my Xbox on loan. |
