Top 5 Games
 

Simple question -- what are the 5 "Must Buy" games currently available for the XBox 360 (feel free to post about other systems, but I've only got a 360, so that's what I care about. :p )

From my own library, I would consider Oblivion and Gears of War to be must buys. Beyond that, I'm not sure I can think of any games that you ahve to have or your library is incomplete.

umm, wouldn't really say too much is "must own". Oblivion was a bit too much for me (depth wise) so i got rid of that. I can easily see how a ton of people are into it, though









i would say guitar hero, if that was online

I've had my 360 since November and have bought way too many games since then, but have been too busy to spend a significant amount of time with more than half dozen or so of them. Of what I've played, I'd only say that Gears and Crackdown are 'must owns'. I'd also give pretty high marks to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Kameo and Earth Defense Force 2017.

Here is a comprehensive list of everyone's top 5 for the first year, which only leaves out a few releases for the past 3 months(Lost Planet, Guitar Hero, DDR, GRAW2) and I doubt those have jumped into anyone's top 5 yet.

whats that earth defense force like?



i keep seeing that game, but i know nothing about it

Is anything like the same titled EDF shmup for SNES? That one was decent but I only had one friend that owned it.

It's loads of fun, but fairly unpolished. You basically run around cities, caves and other landscapes, blowing the hell out of giant alien bugs, robots, monsters and spaceships. The gameplay's a little clunky at times and the graphics, especially the animations, aren't up to par for a 360 title. It's still quite a bit of fun to run around firing at advancing hordes of 20-foot tall ants, spiders, etc.

Guitar Hero II for sure.
Saint's Row would also make my list.

There are plenty of great titles, but for me, these are the 3 must-haves:
1. Oblivion
2. Gears of War
3. Crackdown

These games just keep giving...

I would go for:

3. GRAW2 (come on, it was easy and FUN!)

I planned to pick up GOW after I'm finished with Oblivion (started over after hard drive problem).

Dead Rising - I love Dead Rising so far. Great game.

Only 2 games I have and am interested in. Wife has Viva Pinata and Oblivion but I've never been a big Elder Scrolls fan.


Beyond that it's only the arcade releases. Worms online, yay :D

Those are the games I've been recommending to friends who have bought a 360.

There are a ton of other fun games though. GRAW1&2, FEAR, Dead Rising, Condemned, DOA4, Def Jam Icon, Prey, Farcry. I even enjoyed Bulletwitch.

Been having a lot of fun with Earth Defense Force in split-screen co-op mode with a buddy of mine.

Also just got GHII, but I haven't had much time to get into it yet.

Gears was previously #5, but it hasn't held my attention like Crackdown. It's such an amazing game. Gears is a solid game and very pretty, you just can't top the fun factor of Crackdown.

i've only had my 360 for a few months. but the 2 that i absoloutely love is

don't miss out on dead rising! It's incredibly fun
