found some cool new videos on ign. check out the medical center. it is sooo creepy, but in an awesome way. the atmosphere and graphics in this game just blow me away.

I'm downloading that medical center video now. This game looks like it's going to kick so much ass.

After they finish Bioshock, they should go back and remake the old System Shock games using the new graphic engine. Actually, is there some reason why they can't call the game System Shock 3? Does some other company own the rights to the name or something?

Ooohh yes.. the "System Shock game and a darn good one at that. I played (and still have) the first Half Life and that was one heck-o*******ame also.

The visual scenes in this Bioshock are just unreal. What's really cool is the sound. No doubt about it this game will rock and creep you out on a full D.D sound system. The effects are pinpoint and crystal clear.

Yep, pretty much. EA owns the rights to "System Shock", and I vaguely remember reading that other companies own other parts of the IP, such as the name "TriOptimum", etc.

So, is gonna be in this game?

I don't think so -- from what I understand, other than the fact that it's same development team and the fact that they are trying for the same mood, this game will have nothing to do with System Shock.

yea that is what i heard to JasonF. same developers going for the same mood. but it is it's own property. doesnt really matter tho -- cuz this game alone looks amazing. i just cant get over how amazing the atmosphere and graphics looks so far and they have a while to still work on it.

oh and for those of us who really cant hold in our excitment for this game. check this out...there is a petition right now to 2k and Irrational to have a collectors edition of the game! i already signed it. so help the cause and sign up too! :)

Cool. Just voted. Big Daddy, which btw is blowing the other options out of the water. 35% right now.

Next closest is 17% wanting a making of DVD.

Hopefully this figurine is more along the lines of the Assassin's Creed Assassin on Play Asia and not the tiny pewter crap that came with Prey. The Big Daddy is very cool looking and would look great with a McFarlane touch.

Read their site. They weren't going to do a SE unless 5000 signed the petition. But who knows, they probably had one in the works anyway are just having fun fucking with everyone.

yea -- the petition actually worked. so they are making the CE. now you can vote on what features you want in for the CE, like a big daddy figurine. hehe

Great news for those of you into Collector's Editions. Personally, I've never been a big fan of Collector's Editions since I'm not into collecting the figurines/posters/lobby cards/whatever that get included -- to me, it's all just junk to clutter up my house. Plus, how will I even know that I'll want a Bioshock figurine before I've had a chance to play the game.

Still, as long as I can get my regular edition that has all of the software content, I'm glad those of you into the CEs are going to get what you need.

thanks JasonF. i am so excited for this game. i think it looks incredible and i like getting collectors editions for games i get this amped for. but im glad to see software wise you are just as excited about this game as me. it really looks like it is gonna blow us away.

Definitely -- this and Mass Effect are probably the two games I'm most excited about. I think either or both could be the kind of game that defines the high water mark of this generation.

This is my #1 title I'm most excited for this year. Followed closely by Assassin's Creed and Halo 3. So I can't wait. I'm a little bummed it got bumped though.

i think this game is gonna blow us away and from what i have seen so far it already looks incredible. while the greedy side of me wants it now, i can deal with the delay cuz i know it will only end up making an even better game for us. cant wait to see some more footage. :)

It's a shame this is still a ways off (August) for a release considering all the footage we're seeing. I have to say come fall it's going to be a gamers dream with all the games coming out...Halo 3, Unreal Tournament III, Star Wars; Force Unleased, Medal Of Honor: Airborne, Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway, and Assassin's Creed. Wow...start saving the change!

Pretty sure Force Unleashed has already been bumped until next year. Something to do with not having a large enough install base on the PS3 yet, and they don't want to release it earlier on the 360. Damn PS3 dragging everybody down with it.

Great on-hands preview over at XBL on Bioshock. From what they're saying this game could be a "10".

That preview definitely raised my expectations for this game to a new level. I think my favorite part about the game, other than the atmosphere, is the idea of the Little Sisters moral dilemna.
