Cooking Mama: Cook-off!
I saw this included on the Nintendo Kiosk display today. It appears to be quite the mutli-gamer type of game. My wife will play Wii Sports with me, I hope this game will get the controls right and enable a similar experience.

I think I read that this will be $50, so a huge no purchase for me. $50 for a port/remake/whatever of a $20 DS game (that's $13.99 at Circuit City this week)? No thanks.
|
I'm tempted, but $50 is just too much for a game like this. They really should've bargain priced it like the DS version. I added it to my Gamefly queue, but I'd pick it up for $30 or so if the price drops in the next few months.
|
I would buy it for between $20-30 but no way at $50. I was looking forward to the title until I saw the price yesterday.
|
I was looking forward to this game until I saw the $50 price tag. No way I'm getting it for that price and something tells me I'm not alone.
|
i honestly can't imagine why you guys thought it would be less than 50 bucks...
sure, i wouldn't buy it at that price, but still |
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. It was never even a full priced game for DS and this is essentially a remake with some added flair. There's no reason this should exceed $29.99. I'm sure I'll get it down the road when its cheaper but I'll pass for now. Same thing with Kororinpa which is $39.99.

Thus we thought this would likely be a $20-30 budget title as well. |
well, with that logic, shouldn't it have been 39.99 by your standards?

Not sure what y'all are whining about, but this is one the games that I've been waiting for.
I'd pay $50 for it if I had a Wii, but unfortunately, I don't have one. But as soon as I get one this summer I'm getting this game. |
the DS version was fun for about 2 hours. no replay value at all

well, again, that would account for the low price for the DS game, and the retail version of the Wii game...
|
My wife was basically trying to tell me it's ok to get it last night. Maybe for $40 w/ a $10 off Best Buy Coupon, but, I will seriously have to think about it. I KNOW that my wife, kids, and I could really have a great time with the multi-player.
|
I'll be renting this. I think my wife would enjoy it.

Still not enough for me to even think about it at $50 even if I had someone to play it with regularly. These type of games just aren't worth that kind of cash to me. Ever. But to be fair, Mario, Metroid and Zelda are pretty much it when it comes to games I'll even think about buying for $50. Both because I love them and Nintendo's big games are super slow to ever drop in price. Anything else it's just dumb to buy as it will be $20 or less somewhere in 6 months to a year, and even cheaper if you wait a few years. |

I was disappointed with Trauma Center for that reason. The new surgeries weren't worth the price tag and I thought it was much more fun on the DS. I really wish Nintendo would get out of the mini-game, party game hell they are stuck in. |
God forbid there be a thread about a non-AAA title for any system, that does not turn into a "I won't buy it for $50 because..." thread. People won't buy things that they don't perceive to be a good value? Really? What a shocker!
Are these kinds of posts even necessary? Don't we all just assume this is true? Anyways. The reviews for the game seem pretty spotty. I'm having a hard time imagining how this game couldn't be damn fun though. |

I know I expect it to be fun and I expect my wife would enjoy playing it with me, but that still doesn't justify the price for what I perceive the title holds. So my "not for $50 post" is just me stating my disappointment in the pricing of the title in this particular thread. |
The game looks interesting, but after reading the reviews I really have to side with those that don't feel its worth $50. I will get this one down the road though. I really enjoyed the DS version though it had limited replay.
