MVP Baseball?

Hey guys, I'm sure this is a very outdated question, but I'll ask anyway. I'm not a huge gamer, pretty much just Madden, GTA, etc. My question is, why did EA Sports stop releasing MVP Baseball after the 2005 version? I thought I heard something about them not getting a license in time, but they haven't released one in two years. IMO, it was the best MLB game out there. If anyone has any info, and if they'll be releasing it again, and not just the NCAA version, I'd appreciate it.

After EA got the exclusive rights to NFL games, the 2k series people bought the third party MLB rights (meaning no more MVP with real MLB players and teams). I'm not sure for how long though.

Above is correct....2K has MLB license for 3rd Party...1st Party can still produce MLB games (Sony has MLB:The Show).

NCAA 06/07 is basically EA's response to not having a MLB game. There are lots of mods for the PC version of MVP 05 though, basically making in MVP 07.

And with a few days worth of work, on GameFAQs there are full explanations of how to update the rosters to this year, including creating all the characters. I prefer living in the alternate universe my team is in though.
