GBA SP Question

I am curious what colors the GBA SP Version 2 (or GBA SP+ or whatever they call the GBA SP with the brighter (Micro) screen) come in?

Since they are what are currently in the stores, I'm guessing the Pearl Blue, Pearl Pink, and the Graphite are the Ver.2 GBAs with everything else being the older, darker screen right? I don't imagine the Classic NES Limited Edition
GBA SP has the brighter screen?

At the bottom left there is an image that shows the three available colors.

The Classic NES Edition was not one with the brighter screen.

The difference is that the original SP used a dim front-lighting system while the new SPs have a normal back-lit LCD. The Toys R Us Spongebob GBA SP also uses the back-lit screen and I think there was one other new special edition that has it. If you've got a tri-wing screwdriver or bit you can gut a back-lit SP and swap it into a NES SP shell (I've seen it done online). I considered it myself but my NES SP is in pretty poor shape (this was before I got a case and it suffered a few falls).

I think Toys R US also had a limited edition Pikachu one with the new screen.

Cool thanks for the info. That's about what I figured as far as availability. And makes sense when you look at what is available at retail stores. Looking online is where I started getting confused about which colors designated front vs back lit GBAs.

We have 2 DS Lites in the house (and love them), and an older, front lit Cobalt GBA SP (which I loved back in the day). I have been playing the new GBA Final Fantasy VI on my DS. I also have some GBC games I want to play, Dragon Warrior III, Metal Gear Solid, and the 2 Zelda Oracle games. After getting used to the brightness of DS, I can barely stand to play the older GBA anymore.

So I was thinking of picking up a newer GBA SP, since the DS can't play GBC games, and then maybe giving the GBA games a whirl on the system they were made for instead of playing them on the DS. You pick up about a 1/4 inch in diagonal screen size on the GBA SP as opposed to playing them on the DS (with the borders).

So with all that being said (long winded as usual), since the GBA SP is effectively done as a system, any rumors of a price drop? I keep seeing the prices in the $70s and while that is good, I still can't justify it.
