Seriously, is this necessary? I own all 3, and find something to like with all. No need to demeanor yourself.

That word doesn't mean what you think it means.

Who is buying 22K of GC? :D

180k of psp, that's not bad at all.

I think the PSP problems are more with poor software sales. Many just buy it as a multimedia device and buy few games.
500k DS units? Holy crap.

I cannot believe how much the DS is killing. It's insane. I think now the popularity is one of it's selling points. I bought one because I know others who have one.

Difference being that there are solid games still being released for the PS2 to justify the sales, not the same with the GBA.

DodgingCars 04-20-07 09:08 AM

The only thing that surprises me about the PS2 sales is I thought everyone already had one. Maybe people are replacing broken ones. :)

Most of those GBAs are being bought for very young children. They are cheap enough so you don't worry too much about the cost and there are still tons of games on shelves for little kids.

My roommate bought a new PS2 last month to replace one that he never ever uses. For some reason he had a hard on for MLB The Show 07, and after he bought it found out his PS2 wouldn't play it. So he bought a new PS2 and has played one time since.

260k in sales seems like a big drop for the Wii, and also those kinds of sales should end the shortage hopefully.

MBoyd 04-20-07 03:24 PM

I think it's just they dont have any to ship. I still havent seen one on the store shelves.

People still buy the gamecube?

Michael Corvin 04-21-07 06:19 AM

yep. I have a coworker that hasn't upgraded from the N64 yet and asked me yesterday how much Gamecubes are. He wants to play Twilight Princess but doesn't feel like tracking down a Wii so he figures a gamecube will be fine. He still plays Ocarina frequently.

Well, that shows that the PS3's are finally becoming available for everyone to buy in North America!

Is there any chance of a 360 price drop? I'd like to get one mostly for the new Katamari game and Viva Pinata, but I don't really want to pay more than $300. And I know I could just get a core system, but... no.

Josh H 04-21-07 11:05 AM

I figure the 360 won't drop until the PS3 does. As long as they are $200 cheaper than the PS3 and outselling it they have no incentive to drop.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Oh well, I can wait a year or two. I didn't get a PS2 until the end of 2005, so

Yeah.. I got my PS2 when it was $180 (though I paid $150 for a used one). I'll probably buy a 360 when there is a price drop...

Michael Corvin 04-21-07 04:55 PM

Yeah, with MS launching a year early(and actually selling) and Sony having a $200 premium price over the 360, the rules for pricedrops that we've grown accustomed to have been thrown out the window.

Judging from the amount of difficulty people are still having in getting one, I think that number dropped simply because Nintendo didn't ship as many. That's not good. :(

Yep. All that means is Nintendo could only ship 260k units. If they ship more than that this month you can bet the sales will reflect it.

Or, maybe Gamestop was right when they claimed Nintendo was "holding back" units until the end of the quarter (March 31st). I have noticed they have been more readily available the past couple weeks.
