they cant even get oblivon to RUN on the ps3 properly. I wouldnt invest any grueling gaming hours into an RPG like this unless it had the bugs worked out. For that reason alone, its more rewarding on the 360.

I'm wondering whether I should wait for the 120 gig HD.
Is 20 gigs enough?
What do you 360 owners use the HD for besides game saves and patches.
I'm guessing 20 gigs is more than enough for that?

I only use it for those and demos. If you use it the way MS intends for you to use it (i.e. download movies and TV shows), a bigger HD is definitely going to be needed.

I just picked up an xbox 360 today.

1. why does my HD shows 12 gigs and not 20 gigs? (its brand new)

2. is it possible to use the controller to turn off the console. (you can use it to turn it on)

The operating system etc takes up space on the HD.

There's probably quite a few things that can be deleted to get to it's 'true' maximum of 13GB. Every early 360 owner, for instance, practiced their dashboard skills by figuring out how to delete the Titanic HD clip.

If you're going to buy it from a store, wait and get the HDMI and 100 gigs extra for the $80 (if that's a true #). IMO look at a used system and save some serious $$. Go on Ebay and look for sellers with 0 feedback that will allow you to pick it up. I got a premium 360 in the box w/4 games (including Gears of War and Lost Planet), 2 controllers and cooling fan on Ebay for $361.76 Canadian total because I picked up. I think everyone was scarred to bid because of the "0" feedback, but he let me pick it up so I bid. I've finished Gears, played 20+ hours of Madden, gone online and am 1/2 way through Lost Planet and I haven't had any freezing, glitch or anything. Up here retail is $499.00, so I saved $130+ taxes and got Gears, Fight Night, Lost Planet, Madden a wireless controller and a cooling fan for free.

1. Aprrox 6 gigs is partitioned off so the user can't mess with it. This 6 gigs is only for things like the OS, downloadable patches and updates, etc. You can get a couple gigs back (14 gigs total) if you delete all the video and mp3 files that are preloaded on there.

2. Hold down on the guide button in the middle of the controller for a few seconds. A pop up box will come on screen that will let you shut down the console.

you should buy the XBOX 360. my bf and i decided to get the system and we've been enjoying gears of war!! :) love that game. he's playing so much i haven't had time for my wii sports. :(

OK. got another problem.
there is a switch on the AV 360 connector for "HDTV" or "TV". When I switch it to HDTV, i get fuzzy lines on my tv and I have a plasma HDTV that can display 1080i. why is that?

also, in the dashboard, there is an option to display in HDTV. Do I need to set both the connector and the dashboard to display in HD?

you need to set it up in the menus that you are running your 360 at that definintion. I also find it better to make the switch on the cable when your 360 is OFF
