Anyone know if there are plans to bring the old Super Mario titles to the DS?

I was looking at buying the old GBA releases for the Super Mario titles but did not want to put down some money and then find out that they are planning on releasing them in DS versions or as a collection on the DS.

I recently bought some old arcade releases and later found out that they were being planned for new and spiffier releases specifically for the DS and did not want to make the same mistake on the Super Mario titles.

Since many of you seem to hear a lot of things and read annoucements all the time, I figured someone here might have heard something.

Haven't heard anything, and I can't imagine them being released as a collection...so worst case is that you have them on a GBA cartridge.

And the price is right now...so I'd pull the trigger if you want them.

With the success and popularity of NSMB, and given that it hasn't really been all that long since the GBA versions, I think we'll probably see a sequel to NSMB before we see new DS versions of the old games. . .

You could pick up a used SNES along with a copy of Super Mario All Stars (which updates the old games with much better graphics) and SMWorld, all together for around $40 - $50. Not to mention the other great games you could get for it

= good advice. I love my SNES.

Still, the OP might want them to be portable.

None of the Super Mario Advance carts have the original Super Mario Brothers, right?

Sure...it's on the NES classics series.
