Just because it's on an old console doesn't mean you should ignore what looks to be a most impressive game.

Indeed, pretty stupid to ignore it.

The PS2 will probably be my most played console this year. Has been so far with Guitar Hero I and II and now playing through the first God of War.

With not much out on the Wii, and slim pickins this year in terms of games I'd consider buying for more than $20, I'll probably be catching up on cheap PS2 games I missed out on.

I'm all over Bioshock when that comes out... I can't wait.

I hadn't heard much about that one. Are you really spending your time hunting down and killing little girls? Because if you are, prepare yourself for a video gaming evisceration in the press that will make the GTA controversies look like Animal Crossing by comparison.

Here is my list:

9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
8. Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
6. Bioshock (PC, Xbox 360)
4. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
2. Assassins Creed (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)
1. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)

Also add in Unreal Tournament III, Guitar Hero II (360), and Team Fortress (360). I'd really like to play Crysis but I don't pay to upgrade my PC right now. But there's a another thread about that.

I very much doubt it. I don't know why the gametrailers dude said that. From everything I have seen and read, the Big Brothers and Little Sisters are neutral characters that don't attack you unless you first attack them. It probably is possible to kill a Little Sister, but I don't think it will be the main goal of the game, more like an evil path to take if you so desire (the game is nonlinear with multiple ways to accomplish your goals).

Naw, it isn't a main goal, and I agree it was kind of an odd angle to take.

I've been waiting for another game like System Shock 2 for a long long time now, and I'm hoping BioShock does a good job of it.

Oh. This game just dropped from my #1 spot. Are there any other murder simulators coming out soon? Possibly involving hobos and broken bottles?

From what I have read, that assumption is off base. You need the little sisters to extract Atom from the dead.

I'm looking forward to Bioshock much more than Halo 3, but Metroid more than both of them. Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 look fantastic for the PS3 - in my opinion the best 1, 2 punch of exclusivity of the "next generation" - but I don't expect either of them until 2008.

Yep. Bioshock & Assassin's Creed are both above Halo on my list and I LOVE the Halo games. I'm just ready for some original properties.

Metroid would be higher but they really lost me with Echoes.

RichC2 02-03-07 04:29 PM

Echoes destroyed my opinion that Prime would be a fantastic long-running series, it's like they extinguished all their ideas with the original.

Devil May Cry 4 looks nice, but I honestly haven't enjoyed the series since the original (2 and 3 really didn't do anything for me.) I think we need some good, original titles with some new gameplay mechanics.

Another one I'm looking forward to -- the untitled Sega/Obsidian Entertainment Western-style RPG. Obsidian's also got a game in the works based on the Aliens movies.

Basically, anything that Obsidian does, I'm going to be all over.

Where's Virtua Fighter 5?!

Josh H 02-04-07 11:43 AM

The VF series is more of a cult hit than a major, mainstream series.
