Just going to bump this and let people know that Goozex is now trading movies: BDs, DVDs, HD-DVDs, & UMDs!

Already got a few BDs on the way and a couple of standard dvds on their way out...so looks like it is working well.

The best part is your video game points and movie points are interchangeable. I am clogged up on games right now so this will help me shave down some points that I have and get some BDs in return. Cool!

Super. I knew they were going to start that soon. I have some DVDs I wouldn't mind turning into games.

I've used Gametz for about two years now and love it (I'm at about 50 trades). I shy'ed away from Goozex because I didn't wanna deal with the whole points thing and Gametz allows for more negotiating during trades. The only thing that I've noticed about Gametz which I dislike is that alot of users keep items in their tradelist that they'd never part with just to get hits on their pages & whatnot. For example, you won't find a single person who is willing to part with their copy of Dragon Warrior 7 (PS) yet about 50 people have it available. And its not that they don't get great offers for it, they just won't part with it period. Doesn't make sense to me. Also, there is alot of threadcapping & dishonesty in their trading forums.

I'd still suggest the site though.

These Goozex points..... Can I accumulate them to use on games if they come from movie trades?

Yes, and you can use points on movies that come from game trades. Just know that the movie program is still in beta, and that may or may not change depending how the beta goes.

I've been happy with Goozex so far. Have received some good newer games and have thinned out my collection of older titles. I'm looking forward to dumping some DVDs that I'll never watch again. Hopefully, someone will bite.

New Beta program: Retro gaming. You can trade NES, Super NES, Atari, Genesis, etc. for points now.

No Sega Saturn love as part of the Retro section?

Re: goozex anyone? (And other trading options)

I'm on gametz, and one issue I'm finding is people have games listed, but don't want to trade. I can understand not being in the mood for a certain game, but if you want a game I have, and you have a game I have, and their pretty much equal in value, I don't see why the trade shouldn't be automatic.

I tried a trade of Crackdown for Pure and GTA4 for Gears 2. Both declined. I'm still new to the site though, so maybe I just need to find someone who is willing to deal with someone who has no feedback, though if I'm shipping first I don't see why that would be an issue.

Re: goozex anyone? (And other trading options)

That's why I like Goozex. I don't want to screw around with "My game is worth 30, yours is worth 40, but I don't really want it" and all the haggling. That said, I've got about 4350 points sitting dormant, but most of what's on my queue is new releases, and I can wait.

I just signed up for Goozex, and am in the process of shipping out two games already. I'm looking forward to continually using this site, even though I imagine I'm going to be in some long queue lines. Anything to avoid going to Gamestop.

I wouldn't worry too much about the length of the queue (unless you are like 50th). As long as the game is showing offers, you will usually get it eventually if you have enough trade credits and points. A lot of people put stuff in their queue but don't have the points or trade credits to get the games, so it makes it look like it will take much longer to get a game. I have been as low as 30th in line and still gotten that game shortly after adding it to my queue.

One other thing you should do is if you want games that aren't traded very often, keep the games in your active queue with enough points and trade credits to get it.

Re: goozex anyone? (And other trading options)

So I've been using Goozex for a few months now, and while the "formula" still doesn't make much sense to me, I freakin' love it.

For example, I pulled all the DVDs that I couldn't move on Half.com even at 75 cents a piece and listed them on Goozex. Granted, almost all of them listed for 100 points, which is the bare minimum. But, there was a waiting list for a lot of them and I traded away at least 20 instantly. That gave me 2000 points. Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series on Blu Ray was 1200 points. Which I then received. So for 20 worthless DVDs, a $1.00 trade token and about $40 total in shipping costs, I got a $200 Blu Ray set in mint condition. Awesome.

I've also built an entire PS3 library and received countless 360 games, just from trading away a few GBA and Genesis games I'll never play again. This thing seriously rocks so far.

Goozex is by far the best and it is not even close.

As one of the original members of gametz, I would avoid it like the plague. Everything about it is inferior to the goozex model.

I have very few complaints about Goozex. It's been a great way to get rid of old games. DVDs are more of a problem, because I think there's a lot of people who are dumping their old collections as they upgrade to blu ray. As such, for most titles there's a lot more supply than demand.

How did you get that so fast, did you have it in your queue since release? I added it to my queue today and am in 66th position with literally zero supply, which means I'll probably never get it.

Re: goozex anyone? (And other trading options)

I've had it on my list for a while. But I've found that when one becomes available that queue can get plowed through pretty quickly. Many people don't have 1200 points just sitting in their account, and so it skips them and tries the next person.

The only DVD I have been able to get is the Beastie Boys Video Anthology. Every other one languishes in my queue. Of course, most of what I have there are TV box sets.

That is the key for those sorts of titles. You have to make sure you have enough points and trade tokins just sitting there. You also may have to wait a long time.

The key to Goozex is to put stuff on hold. If you think there is a chance that you might want to get something in the future, get in line now and put it on hold. If you think you might want to get rid of something in the future, get in line and put it on hold.

Absolutely. There is a vocal minority there that wants "hold" status to take you out of line. Of course, if that were implemented it would kill the site.

I need to reopen my account. goosex put it on hold for inactivity.
Tons of old dvds I don't need anymore.

Ive never listed a game or dvd on goozex, I got all my points when they had their 50% off sales. For $41 and 20 DVD's you got 2000 pts.

They were selling 2000 pts with 5 or 10 trades(I forget how many) for approximately $52. The half price sale broke down to 2.6 cents a pt. Get a 1000 pt game for $26. They do this once or twice a year.
