Wii Component Cables

RichC2 01-17-07 10:07 PM

Play-asia rules, have ordered from them a few times in the past and just recently for these cables.

Supermallet 01-17-07 10:19 PM

Noonan 01-18-07 08:21 AM

Nice. Just placed an order. Thanks.

Glad I got in on this deal before it was posted here. I expect a sell out. Hopefully they are decent quality.

RichC2 01-18-07 11:28 AM

It's been in and out of stock numerous times, they get restocks pretty quick.

Supermallet 01-18-07 02:57 PM

Mine shipped already. Sweet.

Rob V 01-18-07 03:12 PM

Awesome! Thanks for the link.

djones6746 01-21-07 09:28 AM

Thanks...will most likely order a pair soon. I have not had time to play Zelda with everything else going on in my life along with trying to play games on my 360 and PS3. Life is good when there is an abundance of quality games and just not enough time to play them all. :)

How long is this cable? The link doesn't quite tell us that detail.

I looked at the link for the component cables for the PS2/PS3 and saw that those were 2.5 meters or roughly 8 feet long. I would assume their component cables for the Wii are the same length.

I don't think it's eight feet... It's about seven. I couldn't pull out the Wii closer to the couch when playing Windwaker (the wired controller is not longer enough). However, for hooking up the Wii to your TV on a stand or nearby? Shouldn't be a problem...

It's definitely a good buy. Guys/gals, try to play Windwaker again on component and you know what i'm talking about :)

I never hooked up the Wii via composite so i don't have any Wii games to compare to, but i will say this, base on the GC games via Wii's component, i'm not going back to composite. I might even sell my GC now, because i can't turn on the GC while playing the Wii and the Wii can play the GC games anyway.

I'm still waiting for my shipment from play-asia.

Patman 01-26-07 05:52 PM

Thanks for the length info. I think I'm going to have to buy a component video switcher-do-hickey because I have too many component video sources for my setup now.

Pbear 01-29-07 02:26 PM

Can anyone who has received their cables confirm length? Was hoping to get longer cables, but if not possible, just want to know. Thanks.

edstein 01-29-07 05:46 PM

I got my cables today. They are 6 foot long.

Pbear 01-30-07 01:34 PM

Thanks edstein.

GoVegan 01-30-07 02:01 PM

I got these cables as well. I ordered them before I'd gotten my Wii and they showed up the day after I'd gotten it. Great (accidental) timing.

The only problem I had with them is that the component cables and the audio cables have to be plugged in within roughly eight inches of each other. I'm not sure if it's like that with the other brand component cables. Previously, I had the component cables for my cube hooked up directly to my TV and the audio cables into my receiver. I had to switch a few things around and reprogram my universal remote to get everything working. The image quality is good, though. I was a little worried at first because the wires do look very thin.

edstein 01-30-07 04:31 PM

Yeah, those wires are very thin but I guess I can't complain. They were only $10. I'd be interested in trying some higher quality cables to see if there is a noticeable image difference. The colors in Zelda sure seem kinda muddy looking to me. I'll try Monkey Ball tonight to see if thats any better.
