Keypad and mouse for Xbox360?

I really want to play Gears of War and Lost Planet but i am hopeless controlling FPS's using game controllers. Are keypads and mouse coming out for the Xbox360 down the road? :(
This is one of the main reasons why i hadn't gotten a XBox360 yet.

Gears of War and Lost Planet are not FPS's , they are both third person shooters, a big difference. Infact, I don't think it would be even viable to use a mouse / keyboard in Gears of War. Probably same with Lost Planet.

You wouldn't worry about controller with 3rd person shooter. I'm a serious Keyboard/Mouse guy, I played Oblivion (which is 3rd person shooter) and I have no problem with aiming. However, if you play Call of Duty, you'll have difficult time with aiming.

I don't think they want it, because in online play, mouse/keyboard users would have an advantage over controller users.

Oblivion is a much slower pace then games like Halo......i am a sitting duck playing those games.....:(

Well, true....but then again.....i don't play online, so they don't have to worry about me!!! :p

With Halo though, they did slow it down. That's a major reason why it worked so well with a controller.

It would be nice if they could create a game that would give you a choice, with the action sped up/slowed down accordingly. In online play, they would keep the controller players separated from the kb/m players.

Being primarily a PC guy, playing Gears of War was a bit annoying having to aim.

There is such a device, the XFPS, but apparently it has some issues. here is a review.

I think the problem is controller based games are designed differently than PC controlled games. There is generally a deadzone in the middle where you can aim, and then when you hold the controller down longer, the aiming reticle starts to move. But a mouse just lets you move anywhere instantly. Plus there isn't a sensitivity setting so it makes it hard to adapt.

I wish they would have included mouse keyboard support standard. I use and N52 and mouse combo for the PC, and I still buy all FPS games and many third person shooters for the PC, because the controls are better. But I would love to plug in my N52 and mouse into the 360 and have it work just as good as on the PC, it is the last thing keeping me from buying FPS's for the 360, that are also available on the PC.

Yeah, seeing the gameplay on TV, i thought i would still have to aim like a fps using the controller. I think any game in which i have to control a cursor in the middle of the screen are the ones i have problems with. Unless it comes with a cheat, i'll never finish the game.

I'll have to say though, even though i've been a major FPS guy on the PC, Gears of War is incredibly fun even though i'd rather use a keyboard/mouse. Aiming difficulties aside, it's still a blast.

GoW is definately on my list of games to try if i get the 360......i'll probably wait and see if MS will come out with the new 360 with HDMI. If they do, i'll definately jump on that one.
