Best PS1 Games?
 

I've had a sudden interest in PS1 games and I wanted to know what titles you guys thought were MUST HAVES.

I have these so far :
GT 1 & 2
Final Fantasy Tactics
FF 8
Parasite Eve
Vagrant Story
Metal Gear Solid

What type of games are you into? That should make the recomendations easier.

I see that you are into RPG so I will recomend FF7 (a must have). Also Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is one of my favorite games in the PS1.

For RPG
Sikoden 1&2- 2 is my fave RPG for PS1, and since it is almost a direct sequel (about 1/3 of the characters overlap) might as well get 1 as well.

chrono cross and vagrant story are the two best ps1 rpgs that get looked over because final fantasy isnt in the title. castlevania sotn, tekken 3, silent bomber, fear effect 1 and 2 are all worth looking into.

i thought Tekken 3 was for ps2? better look into that


I actually got Chrono Cross last night, and have Vagrant Story, though I haven't played those yet.

I think my brother has Fear Effect, but I should really look for Fear Effect 2, I suppose

Tenchu 1-2 (stealthy ninja games)

Alundra (very reminiscent of Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past) Avoid Alundra 2 though because it is garbage.

Dino Crisis 1-2 (it is basically Resident Evil with dinosaurs instead of zombies)

Unfortunately, some of the games listed above are hard to find and you may have to go the Ebay route and pay a lot of money in order to get it. For example, check the price for Suikoden or better yet Tactics Ogre.

i actually had Tactics Ogre, but sold it 3 months ago for 25 bucks.

but I couldn't find the book + case, so I had to sell it CD only. My brother just called over the weekend stating that he found the case + book. Obviously, I wasn't too excited haha

What? That much? I think i still have that game somewhere....

The only games i can quickly recall when PS1 is mentioned are:

Metal Gear Solid
Vandalhearts (spell?) Oh, i loved that game, loved it when you tag along a rookie char with you and have him/her destoy an "already" weaken enemy or heal a high rank ally, watch the rookie char's level soars in one turn!

These are PS2 games, he's looking for PS1 games, and Tekken 3 is a PS1 game.
