What is the current, honest status of INTERNET on SONY PSP?
PSP + INTERNET = ????????
What is the current, honest status of INTERNET on SONY PSP? According to much research online of Internet-on-PSP forums, it seems like 90% of PSP owners CANNOT access internet, due to: 1. Seriously unclear directions of the internet setup on PSP in layman terms from forum advisors or Sony customer service reps to PSP owners. 2. Vagueness if one needs or not a Wireless router/home internet access. For example, it seems like one does not need a wireless router/home internet access if one is trying to browse the web at a wi-fi hotspot. Why would one want to use the PSP for internet in your home if you have a computer with internet access in your home? 3. According to Sony, is this internet thing supposed to be running smoothly on the PSP as of December 2006? Or maybe it's still a work-in-progress? What is going on? Furthermore, if anyone has some clear exact directions of how to get internet on my PSP, please email me them at [email protected]. Thanks so much. |
I don't understand the question, I've been surfing the internet on mine since last XMas.
|
I've been using the WiFi on mine without any problems. I don't usually play online games but I do surf the net on it from time to time and listen to podcasts on a daily basis.
|
as can I...
if you can't browse the web on your PSP, you either need a higher firmware, or you're an idiot that doesn't know how to setup, look for a wireless connection, and connect to it |
I was able to set up the wireless internet connection on my PSP pretty easily, but the web-browsing interface on the PSP is ass. Everything loads really slowly too. Pretty useless IMO.
|
its come in handy a few times, but basically you're right. Its pointless
|
KurrptSenate, yes im an idiot. can you help me through the exact set-up?
|
i wasn't referring to you as being an idiot...really
what firmware are you running? You need to scroll all the way to the left, go to internet connections....add a connection....name a connection....search for a connection...select NO internet security (WPA i think) and then test that bitch. |
make sure you have the wireless adapter turned ON, on your PSP (the switch on the left side of the unit)
that could be the problem |
i've done that...when i scan, i usually get someone else between %50 and %75. Does it have to be at %100?
|
what do you mean by firmware? if you mean my psp, i think it's at 2.60 or 2.80.
From my topic, it seems like a huge majority try to do these simple steps, but nothing works. Check out the forums for yourself. There are tons of people how to supposedly do this, but it's not working. That's what i find strange |
no, it doesn't have to be at 100% to work
if its scanning the connection and finding one, it works bro |
i too can browse the net on mine but as another poster mentioned it is a pain in the ass.
