Setzer 12-26-06 11:02 AM

PSP w/ 4GB mem card, Metal Gear PO, Killzone, Hot Shots Golf and Ridge Racer.
Castlevania PoR(DS)
Magical Starsign(DS)
Tiger Woods '07(PS3)

I also got a Wii....but it was really a gift for my kids. :)

Here's what they got:

Wii
3 Wiimotes
3 Nunchucks
2 Classic Controllers
2 2k point cards
Zelda
Trauma Center
Excite Truck
Super Monkey Ball

AllHallowsEve 12-26-06 11:35 AM

None... But, I played everything I wanted already. Nothing much for me now for a few months.

Zelda Wii is a pretty damn good game, but I just don't want to devote all that time to it. I rented it for a whole weekend and didn't even get that far. So, I just read the strategy guide and returned the game. Now I know all I need to know.

Cheap trick, yes... But, I just don't have the patience to sit for 60 hours anymore.

Just return it. There is nothing to feel guilty about. Just explain it to her and she should understand. Don't keep a bad game like Red Steel just to impress her. Will likely cause relationship issues after you play it. Yes, I thought it was that bad.

I rented Trauma Center. Not bad a few days, but it's the same thing over and over. Operation after operation of picking bodies apart with sharp tools and watching blood squirt. I say rent it first. You will probably bore of it quickly.

KurrptSenate 12-26-06 12:12 PM

I thought Red Steel was a much better purchase over Trauma Center, and I own both :/

I just picked up a used copy of Rayman for the Wii for 42 bucks. I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations

spainlinx0 12-26-06 12:39 PM

That's the thing people on this board have been saying Red Steel isn't so bad which is making me lean towards keeping it.

KurrptSenate 12-26-06 12:41 PM

It's probably one of my favorite games for the system.

the people that dont like it are either making fun of the graphics, or just can get aclimated to the control scheme.

I think it looks very similar to FEAR (like it much more than that game) in terms of graphics.

Used a Gift Card to pick up a Guitar Hero I bundle so I'd have both games and 2 guitars.

My parents got me a 360 with Dead Rising and Saints Row. My brother's fiancee got me American Wasteland. This all compliments my Table Tennis, and I plan on going out to pick up Fight Night Rd 3.

Luckily it's winter break, because I got a lotta gaming to do

Santa gave in and gave the kids the Wii along with the Rayman Raving Rabids game and an extra Wii-mote. Came this close to not getting it, though.

In addition, Santa gave them:

Happy Feet (Gamecube)
Nicktoons Unite 2: Escape from Volcano Island (GC)
Spongebob: Creature from the Krusty Krab (GC)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (Xbox)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (Xbox)
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (Xbox)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Xbox)

All of the Xbox games for the older kid and the rest for the younger one.

So far, Rayman seems to be the one they like best (and quickly get worn out from). And the best thing of all...they are working together instead of fighting through the game. One child aims the juice squirter while the other pumps, etc.

Cost of Wii - $250
Cost of Rayman game - $50
Cost of seeing my kids actually work together - Priceless

BTW, no games for me (not much of a gamer outside of Monkeyball and my various attempts at playing RPGs). But Santa did bring me a Philips 5960 player and a 160 GB MyBook to hook to it. And a new, beginners acoustic guitar by Rogue. I'm a happy camper.

The Bus 12-26-06 02:58 PM

I bought myself The Outfit for $10 at Black Friday and then I got Yoshi's Island for the DS.

tpc 12-26-06 08:37 PM

I got nothing actually on Christmas, but my Wii that I got on Launch day was an early Christmas present.

COACH2369 12-26-06 10:08 PM

I picked up Gears of War, NBA 2K7 and Smackdown VS Raw for 360 with some gift cards today...

CaptStormy 12-27-06 10:09 AM

I got the following for XBox 360
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Phantasy Star Universe
Viva Pinata
Call of Duty 2 GOTY
Splinter Cell
Gears of War
2 Marketplace cards..

Not a bad Haul I think.

Homer Simpson 12-27-06 10:26 AM

For the kids actually - though I'll play the Wii games...

DJ_Longfellow 12-27-06 11:43 AM

I got NBA 2K7 (360)

I also got myself Resistance:Fall of Man (with my Sony points)

I have a giftcard for Blockbuster/GameRush that I may use to buy a game or PS3 controller.

UncleGramps 12-27-06 07:24 PM

My wife got me these 2:

Evidence: The Last Ritual (PC) - a pretty cool adventure/puzzle game
Sly Cooper 3 (PS2)

I'll also be getting one of these Wii games from my parents as a belated Christmas gift: Elebits, Super Swing Golf, or Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

And I picked these up for myself yesterday since they were on clearance ($10 each) at Toys R Us:

Point Blank DS
Rub Rabbits (DS)
Metal Gear Acid 2 (PSP)

There's been several threads on this, buy my faves are:

New Super Mario Bros
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Kirby Canvas Curse
Meteos
Super Princess Peach
Mario Kart DS
Brain Age (which you have already)

Also a ton of great GBA games you can pick up since it plays those as well:

The Mario Ports
The 2 metroid games
The 3 castlevania games
A couple Kirby games
etc.

Silkk_34 12-30-06 12:08 PM

I got a Xbox 360 and some games for it.
FNR 3
Condemned
Madden 07
Lego Star Wars 2
Table Tennis
College Hoops 2k7
and the 3 Burger King games.

So overall a much better year than last year, when I didn't get crap.
Now I'm just waiting on income tax for the HDTV to go with it. :-)
