WII restock rumors / facts thread part 2, Electric Boogalooo

To recap the on-topic portion of the previous thread - heavy rumors about that we'll be seeing one more batch showing up at stores on the 22nd.

Batch of what?

(Mods, fix the title).

I heard there may be a rather large batch of PS3s hitting Best Buys this weekend. This was from someone who learned about the Wii shipments before the websites did.

Ah nothing like that new thread smell to go with that new console smell.

I succeeded in getting myself a PS3 and Wii this year, I'm somewhat happy, but now I just want to get rid of the damned PS3.

As mentioned in the other thread, Wal-Marts had some Wii's yesterday. So they may be worth checking to see if some come in today or tomorrow.

My friends each got PS3's at Gamestop yesterday. It seems like PS3's are just trickling in with a couple here and there.

Just out of curiosity, why the desire to rid thyself of the PS3?

It's not trickling in, actually. It's that the PS3 isn't selling out. My local GS got several in last Sunday, and finally sold their last one last night.

Hurt my bank acct more than I thought, no need for bluray (30" HDTV, and I sit a good 10 feet away), and no desire to play any more games/nothing looks good to me right now and I have a ton of games to finish as is.

But mostly, it hurt my bank account more than anticipated.

Finally

Finally got a Wii. Wal-Mart is getting shipments in on varying days depending on the stores. A co-worker with my father-in-law whose mother works at Wal-Mart grabbed one for me (at discount even). Will have it in hand tomorrow! Whew!

According to Fatwallet scuttlebutt, the 2 main store chains are Best Buy and Toys-R-Us for the Dec. 22nd batch of Wii's, so get there really early, at least by 3 a.m. or earlier.

thanks for the info, not sure if i want to wait out in the cold again. I got their at 4 am last time and missed the cutoff by like 3 people.

Does anyone know about the number of units stores are getting ?

Thanks also I saw Best Buy has the classic Wii controller in stock if anyone is looking for some.

Get thei SKU for the Wii, go to BB and ask them to look if they have a DVD in stock (give them the SKU). Note where on their screen it shows. Then give them the Wii SKU. Note how many they are getting (or have in stock).

You sneaky little bastard. You deserve a Nobel Prize for that trick.

I applaud you!

TRU has gone as far as issuing a press release saying 6,000+ PS3s and "thousands" of Wii consoles and accessories will be in stock this week.

Check your local TRU.

Wii consoles were added to EB / Game Stop stocks when the computers were turned on this morning. A friend stopped at a Game Stop near his home, and he was told that they would be in stock soon, but this time they'd go on sale the moment they got to the store. No more camping out in the morning... now it's camping out all day and waiting for the delivery. I wonder if it'll be more or less chaotic.

That's how I scored a Wii. Waited at the GS in the mall for about 2 hours for the the UPS delivery to show up. 30 in line 21 sytems sold.

Gamestop.com has PS3 20 & 60 bundles right now. Also have Wii bundles.

All these bundles have about 5 or 6 games so they aren't inexpensive.

I finally got one (Wii)!!!! My local TRU had a bunch in. They wouldn't say how many, though. They said they weren't allowed. Anyway, I think I'm letting a friend of mine buy at cost for his son. I figure a kid is more deserving of a "wildly successful" Christmas than me. Anyway, I picked up an extra remote, nunchuck and Zelda. I already have the component cables from Nintendo. Now, I'm hoping that my friend will find one himself so I can keep mine.

Note to self: never go to the Times Square Toys R Us four days before Christmas ever again.

They had Wiis, I saw people buying them, but it was such a madhouse I just turned around and left.
