It's (still Un-)Official: Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to 360
Well, as official as noooz says... whoever they are.
The blows just keep coming. Kudos to MS for scoring yet another big franchise. Like all the other big titles Sony has lost, looks like they have no one but themselves to blame again. So besides Final Fantasy, does Sony have any exclusive big guns left?
It looks like Sony can't escape 2006 with a shred of decent news.
Sony can't be happy to lose another big exclusive.
Earlier this week, the information of Metal gear's non platform exclusivity was imparted to me by way of a dev source close to the team who cannot be named by pain of death. It's coming a few months later than the PS3 game, but it's happening folks.
This is said to be because publishers - including Konami - don't believe there'll be enough PS3s out there by the time the game hits because of the blu ray diode failure issues.
Now all I need is VF5 and I won't have to buy a 3rd console!
I'll get official comment from Konami in the week, but it is Saturday and this came pretty much from the horse's mouth, so you can count on this being legit.

If this is true, it shouldnt be too big of a surprise. EGM and other news sources have been hinting of MG coming to the 360 for quite some time now.

Why would a website like this that nobody has heard of get first official confirmation of a 360 port of MGS4 instead of the big name sites like IGN or Gamespot?

MGS 2 came out on the original Xbox, and Hideo Kojima has already said he could do MGS 4 on the 360. If it does end up being true, then all Sony has left is FFXIII, and after that even Squenix is going system neutral. So if MGS 4 on the 360 really happens, I'll probably never have to buy a PS3.

If this is true, it's yet another coup for Microsoft. Sony's only real marquee franchise that is exclusive is Final Fantasy.

Yep. Capcom sold a buttload of copies of Dead Rising. Wasn't it the fastest selling game until Gears of War came out? I thought I read on IGN or Gamespot that it sold half a million copies in two weeks.
And Capcom has Lost Planet coming out next month, and it is just as highly anticipated as Dead Rising was. If Lost Planet also sells a buttload, I am sure they will want to bring more games to the 360. Could Devil May Cry 4 be the next game to lose exclusivity?

Yes, if this happens, it's a coup for MS, at least in the US, but if it comes out long after the PS3 version and after all the plot point spoiler become common knowledge, it wouldn't be as big a deal as many might think. (Sort of like the GTA games that were technically better on the Xbox; can anyone show a comparison of games sold on the two systems? I'd bet it's 10:1 for the PS2). Yes, more people own PS2s, but just as important is the newness of a game. A late arrival for the same game on a different system can really limit sales.

Hideo Kojima has stated that he will not work on the game unless it is an exclusive because he wants to be able to build the game around one system instead of having a watered down version built on the lowest denominator. So no, not happening.

It's simple economics... unless Sony pays them booku dinero to keep it an exclusive, Konami is going to force Koijima to port it to 360.

It is simple Ms4 will arrive on the 360 cause konami needs the sales , ps3 only 400,000 to 700,000 software may be sold , xbox 360 more then 3 million possibilties. Winner 360. It simple math Konami is a company that needs money and they arn't gonna risk thier company for Sony. In the end Loyalties end when money runs dry

Yeah. From the last report I read a month or so ago, the 360 has already sold 7-8 million.
I have never heard Kojima say that he only makes a game if it will be exclusive because he doesn't want to water it down for the lowest denominator. That really doesn't make sense, because last gen the PS2 WAS the lowest denominator.
