SIXAXIS controller
Is there anything that needs to be done in the setup menu of the PS3 or of the controller to activate the motion sensor? Need for Speed Carbon says that it is motion capable, but I am not seeing it.
|
Did you check the manual to see what the motion sensor actually controls?
|
it's so needless in NFS:Carbon that even when it's on you won't notice it.
|
Its annoying to plug in your controller on every update

yea I forgot to mention the length . HA. I wonder why they couldn't at least supply a regular 8-10 foot cord.
Ridiculous so if my batteries are dying and they need to be charged I need to sit 3 feet away from my 42 inch to continue playing. Wow whoever thought of that should get employee of the month at Sony |
I also think its ridiculous that its only 3 feet but what pisses me off even more is that the extra controllers don't come with a miserable 3 foot cable! How much would it cost to put that with each controller for f***'s sake
Has anyone tried a generic USB-USB mini cable. Does it work? Will it damage anything? |

So, how long does a charge last on these controllers? What happens if the battery goes dead? We are out a controller, eh? not the smartest of ideas.
The controller actually feels rather CHEAP to me. I have yet to do any actual gaming with it, but just holding it and comparing to the 360...feels really cheap and light. |
I agree with the cheap feeling. It might be due to the controller not having a rumble feature as the reason for it weighing as much as a paper clip. The plastic feels cheap too for some reason like not a good quality plastic when you play with it.
Mine still haven't died yet and am still running on the full charge from when I got the system. I cant wait till im deep in a game and then I have to plug it in and play 3 feet away with a tiny thin usb cord attached |
Actually I've played with the 360 wireless controller and prefer the PS3's because it is lighter. It's easier to hold in the hands and I've been able to play long gaming sessions with it w/o any discomfort.
|
I agree with weight of it and it not causing discomfort due to its lightness but the make of it just feels cheap

 I was just stating the PS3 controller was more comfortable to game with because it was lighter. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to feel the difference in weight between the two. The 360 has rumble which is probably the reason why it weighs more than the PS3 controller. I've played with both controllers and prefer using the PS3 controller, that's just my preference. |

Dam as much as the xbox system?? I'm 6 foot 2 and weigh 215 lbs and that xbox 1 system was like 10 lbs I think and if it really weighed that much I would surely not really enjoy playing the system or you can see it as getting a workout while playing games. =)
Either way the PS3 controller is very light we all know that and its surely comfy to use but that 3 foot USB cords cracks me up everytime when I think about the person that said *yea lets pack in a 3 ft cord that they NEED it to charge with* |
If you think the 360 controller is heavy... you need to put down the fucking controller and go lift some weights. Jesus, it's probably 3-5 ounces.
The SixAxis is Sony's culmination of both not wanting to settle the lawsuit brought forth by the company that invented the rumble feature (which Sony and Nintendo both did) and also trying to compensate with Wii's new features. And it weighs about as much as a paperclip because they spent $1 instead of $2 in China making it and charge you $50. |

My comments to Taffer about the 360 controller being heavier than the original Xbox was just a sarcastic response to the one he made. If you would have read my reply to him you would have seen that. |

Oh oh things are getting hot in here over the debates on the weight of controllers.
|
Yeah, all of you simmer down. Yes the controller is light compared to the 360 - not having to swing a hunk of lead around will do that.
Light != Cheap Heavy != well made |
Here's my question... Even if you feel the 360 controller is heavy, how do you hold the controller in a way where it becomes uncomfortable? Are you lifting the controller out with your arms up or something? I just rest my arms and elbows on my lap and I can play all night. No problems here.
|
I still prefer the 360 controller layout with the staggered analog sticks.....
