How do you have your Wii positioned?
I've got mine horizontal with two Wavebird receivers and a GameCube memory card.
|
Mine is vertical. Note that the clear disc hooks onto the bottom of the stand so the console doesn't tip over. I figured this out later, as I had not read the manual initially (due to me being a man).
I actually don't mind the look of the console with the Wavebird receivers on it. It looks like a SW droid for some reason. :o My sensor bar is on top of the TV, on top of my center channel speaker. |
My sensor bar is on top of my TV and it blends in really sexy-like:

Is it still okay to laugh at the 8th grade naughtiness the thread title suggests?

My Wii is in my room right now, but I'm going to move it downstairs to the Plasma when my component cables arrive today. I'm pretty sure I'm going to position it vertically. |
Vertical with GC stuff (though I have those out at the moment).
I was always reluctant to put systems vertical, but it really seems like that is the way the Wii was designed with the writing on the front, the store demos being vertical etc. I don't care about looks as it is not visible when not in use as it's behind wooden doors under my TV. Sensor bar is on top the TV, I tried below first, but the coffee table interfered with the pointer when sitting down. Works like a charm sitting or standing with it on top. |

I guess I'll have to dig back into the box to find it. Do any of you happen to remember which section it came in? 1 or 2?
|
isn't this a bit too personal? ;)

My own unit is sitting vertically on my coffee table with the sensor resting below the tv, but I am considering moving it on top after finalizing the Wii's location. For now however, I saw not point in placing it in a permanant position seeing as it will be tagging along tomorrow for Thanksgiving. |
Old school baby. Horizontal. None of that GC shit hanging out ruining the aesthetics of it. Maybe I'd leave some wavebirds hooked up if they release a white one to match the system.
|
I have mine vertically, and I found that I got more accurate movements when I placed the sensor below the TV with the mini stand.
|
I found the clear disc stand. It was in the first box underneath the instruction manuals. If nobody had mentioned it to me, I wouldn't never found it.

reverse cowgirl

veritically next to the tv. No GC stuff on it. I'll get around to that once I start playing GC games on it

I put the Wii vertical. Normally I'm not a big fan of vertical consoles but the Wii is so small that it works. I'm afraid to put it down towards the bottom of the audio rack because our 11mo old loves pressing buttons and LEDs. I put it on the top of the audio rack for now. |
I have mine horizontal at the moment with GC attachments (1 Wavebird (though I have 2) and a GC memory card))

EDIT: It really does make the vertical position a lot more stable, well done Nintendo! |
Horizontal with cube attachments and cube attachment doors removed.
|
Vertical with the stand and no GCN attachments (they're close by). Aesthetics.
|
Vertical as well...another one who didn't notice the clear disc stand attachement until the next day when I was reading the manual.
