Capcom Classics Collection Vol.2! Pure Bliss!!!
I just picked this up for the PS2 and WOW!! This collection makes the first one look like CRAP! It has arcade perfect ports of SF1, Super SF2 Turbo, Black Tiger, Knights of the Round and a bunch of ther classics.
For $19.xx it's worth every penny! The Capcom Quiz game totally owned me :( My memory sucks! |
I'm getting this next payday. Wii + cables + games = HDTV = scared of spending even an extra $15.
|
HEY! Does it still have blurry ass graphics or can you choose to filter them or not?
|
Do Not Forget Target have it for $10 after turkey day (2 days sale).
|
It has progressive scan options. Looks great on my HDTV!

Not trying to hate, but it does add up quickly when you start trying to think of all the games you would like to have back. I have kept most of my systems for this reason, but it would be nice to have a few here and there immediately playable on Wii or 360. |

Bionic Commando and Strider, hmmm. I just might have to pick this one up and dust off the PS2.

I might have to finally pick this up. I tried last week to get it for X-Box, but it's been delayed a bunch of tiems. Oh well, I'm sure there's not too much of a difference in graphics between the two and I'm going to try and get it today for PS2. I got the Wii Saturday night and it's great, but there is no way I would buy a bunch of games for it. I bought a 2000 point card and downloaded Bonk's Adventure which was 800 points ($8), but there is yet to be a TG-16 collection (for PS2, X-Box not including PC emulators) so that's not too bad.
|
i played a little of this last night (got it for $10 on Black Friday). Man, I didn't realize Street Fighter I was so unresponsive and choppy. Also, for Super SFII, is that really an arcade port?? The music sounded better on SNES versions and I always though the sprites from the arcade versions were bigger - here they look identical to the SNES versions.
|
Ah, thanks for bringing this up. Whoever said this disc looks great is insane. The anti-aliasing on this disc is OUT OF CONTROL, it might even worse than the first collection. Progressive scan mode doesn't really help. The games presented here are so blurry that they're practically unplayable. I really, really hate Digital Eclipse now.
For fuck's sake would it have killed them to have an option to turn it off in the video options? :( |
The image quality on these games is indeed horrific. The Sega Genesis Collection is indeed how they should be done. Also it doesn't help that it costs $10 more for the PSP version. i thought portable games were supposed to be cheap. Now it's more expensive to get a PSP and games than it is to get a PS2.

It sucks because the games on the disc are awesome. :( |
Has anyone played either of the PSP versions? Is the graphics problem Pixy mentions noticeable on those versions?
|
I just picked this up for the PS2. Is anyone encountering a problem similar with what have with Street Fighter II? Even set at the easiest difficulty level, the computer is kicking my butt, and I've been playing this game for years. I did not have any problems with Capcom Collection 1, but here, the difficulty is almost inhuman.
|
i can't make it past the 2nd round. even playing with akuma, it's tough to beat the cpu. i am playing on normal difficulty i think.
|
I'm playing the Vol 1 and the games are kicking my butt. I like a challenge, but these games are so freaking hard.
1942, Gunsmoke, Ghost and Goblins...I don't remember old school games being this hard. Also, I don't remember Bionic Commando being that unimpressive. |
I have to agree with the difficulty level in Volume 1. Glad to see it wasn't just me. I couldn't even get past Level 1 in Gun.Smoke and Level 2 in 1942.
I know I suck at video games. :( |

I know I suck at video games. :( Gunsmoke I played for a couple of hours and got to level 2. Trojan I got a few levels into it. I remember beating this game "back in the day". Maybe I've lost gaming skills in today's unlimited life/continue where you die philosophy. |

I admit I'm not the best SFII player, but when you can't get past the 2nd round, it really ruins the fun of it, and I really bought it mainly for the SFII. Also, anyone else having a problem with Captain Commando on the PS2 version. Why does it let you only choose the first of 4 characters (the guy with the knives) and not any of the other 3 which include Captain Commando himself? |
i don't know if they screwed up the difficult setting for SFII, but I do remember reading that the actual arcade version of that particular SFII incarnation did have quite a boosting in difficultly level. I can barely beat 1 or 2 opponents on this version and this comes from someone who could beat SFII: turbo on the SNES on the hardest difficulty without losing a round.
