Everquest II - PvP - It stinks.. Can I turn it off?

Started playing EQII again and the PVP mode is annoying the hell out of me. Everytime I get far in a quest, some jerk comes by and kills me... I don't want to lose my character that I've been working on for 2 days. In fact, I would probably quit the game entirely rather than start over. Is there a way to turn off PvP or switch to a 'server' that doesn't support it?

I think you'll just have to start over on a non-PVP server if you don't like PVP. Just stick with it though, and you'll be ganking newbs in no time.
