It should be a poll between Super Mario Bros., Zelda, or some Atari 2600 game.

I don't remember if I beat Zelda first or super mario bros. I think it was Zelda. The crowning jewel in my early achievements would have to be Bionic Commando. Took a couple years but I finally beat it. I remember one magazine considered it unbeatable.

Raiders of the Lost Ark on ATARI. :D

It was cool because no one else I knew could finish it and I'm no great player so it was really cool to be the only one who did.

First: Adventure on the 2600
Close Second: Classic Adventure on the GE mainframes (Xyzzy)

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike

Probably Super Mario World.

Or Wolfenstein 3d for Computers.

I think it was something called Ernie's Bubblebath for NES when I was 3. Then was Super Mario Brothers when I was 4.

Apart from some nameless text adventures on the c64, Last Ninja C64 comes to mind as the find game I actually completed. I tried really hard to finish Impossible Mission, but it was ... impossible.

It was an EA game called 'Legacy of the Ancients' and this still goes down as one of the best and most fun role playing games I can remember. They made a sequel called Legend of Blacksilver and that was the last I heard from that series. Would love to see someone bring it into the present.

Pretty sure it was Adventure on the 2600. First game I remember having some sort of goal.
